After her heartbreaking story, a small part of me didn’t want to drop her off and leave her by herself. I know I shouldn’t want to stay with her, but I do. Instead of taking her straight home, I decided on a plan. “Hey… I have a quick question for you.” We were still a pretty decent way away from her house, so I wasn’t going to try and push my luck too far. “Sure,” she says with a soft smile. “Go ahead.” I smirk and nod my head slowly. “Would you be okay if we stopped somewhere for a few minutes? Just to go for a short walk before I drop you off back home with our son.” She snorts with laughter at me and shakes her head. “I don’t mind if we go somewhere for a walk. Just know that he is not our son, he is my cat-son and you will do good to remember that.” I chuckle and roll my eyes
