CHAPTER TWO Talon stood in the elevator taking her to her Mom’s office, her arms crossed in front of her, tapping her foot impatiently. Talon never liked elevators all that much; they were always much slower than taking the stairs and the fact that they were always enclosed spaces made her feel like she was trapped in a metal box with no way to escape. At the same time, however, Talon also didn’t relish the thought of climbing hundred of stories’ worth of stairs to get to her Mom’s office at the top of this skyscraper, so she decided to take the elevator this time.
