Stepping out of the car, I found a familiar SUV parked next to the lake. A deep frown settled on my forehead and I did a double take. Hadn’t I left this car next to the Telltale Cabin? How did it reach here? My gaze drifted beyond the SUV landing on Lilith who was standing like a statue. The moment our gazes met, her face turned paler than a ghost. “A… a… Ayame? Is that you?” she stammered as she rubbed her eyes vigorously. Sucking in her breath, she shook her head. “You couldn’t possibly be here… All this stress has made me delusional…” Looking at her pallid expression, a pang of guilt squeezed my chest. I should have informed them before leaving. Drawing in a deep breath, I moved closer and placed my hand on her shoulder. “You are not seeing things, Lilith. I am really here.” H
