“Ayame, this way…” Tristan said, holding my hand and leading me towards the canteen. “We still have a bit of time before the exams begin. “Have something first.” “But…” I protested, raising my head from the sheaf of papers in my hand. “I still have a lot to learn.” “You study.” He pulled a chair for me. “I will bring something to eat.” I was about to oppose him again, but then just nodded. Arguing with him would waste the little time I had. With a sigh of resignation, I continued reading the theories of coagulopathy. I had barely read a few pages when the sweet aroma of cinnamon wafted in the air, flaring up my hunger. Tristan’s lips curved in a smile as he set a plate of fresh rolls in front of me.
