“Do you really think it is okay to come here like this?” Tristan said, looking around uncomfortably. “I mean, it is so late in the night and… umm… We could go to a hotel or to your rented house.”
“Those places are very predictable, Tristan.” I bent over reflexively to pull out the key from under the mat. “And at present, I don’t want to deal with anything supernatural.”
“I understand.” Tristan’s expression deflated and his lips pressed into a tight line. “I will leave after you have settled.”
Groaning in frustration, I laced my hand through his. “I didn’t mean you, silly.” Snuggling closer, I added, “You are my personal dose of supernatural sunshine. I will always want you around me.”
