I Looked around warily as I stepped down from the bus. The road was desolate, devoid of run-down shacks or small stores that remained open all through the night. All I could see were towering skyscrapers on both the sides of the road. The locality Sierra lived was so posh that nobody used buses or sharing cabs. My only choice was to walk the remainder of the way. Sierra had offered to pick me up, but I had refused; afraid of being too burdensome. I jumped as a car or two passed by me every once in a while. I was more afraid of those arrogant snobs than of being alone. Two miles; that’s it. I had to walk two more miles and I would reach Sierra’s home.
