The event ended but Quin took the partying to the club, dragging me along with him and I like the obedient new wife went along with it. He was talking and cracking jokes with his workmates and he had this air of superiority around him. I walked off to the ladies’ room to freshen up, “Love?” Someone said. I looked at the people around me confused, was someone calling me or was I imagining it?
“I thought I saw you but I thought my eyes were playing with me.” He said.
“Adam?” I said surprised, “oh wow. I haven’t seen you since college. I thought you’d have at least come to my wedding.”
“About that I didn’t see your invitation until a week ago. I was at some convention in Canada. Sorry I didn’t come though.” Adam explained.
“I understand. I guess you did manage to become a doctor, huh?”
