Shannon’s at her locker trying to sort out her books when she gets jumpscared by Maya who spooked her up by tickling her

“What the f**k Maya” Shannon screamed while basically jumping

“Well hello to you too” Maya said laughing

“You scared the s**t out of me” Shannon replied

“Let me see your class schedule” Maya asks putting out her hand

Shannon hands unlocks her iPad and gives Maya

“Here”

“OMG we only have second and sixth period together” Maya said looking sad “Why is the universe desperately trying to separate us”

“What is your first period?” Shannon asked

“Chemistry” Maya replied groaning

“Damn I have AP lit” Shannon said “but at least we have English and politics together?”

“Yeah I guess” Maya replied “let’s meet up during recess”

“I have a meeting with Ethan during recess. What about lunch?” Shannon asks

“Mhm Ethan” Maya says teasingly

“Maya there’s nothing going on between us it’s just a meeting about the gala”

“Well yeah but the unexpected always happens” Maya replied smirking

“Well nothing is going to happen I’m going to make sure of it” Shannon said giving Maya a fake smile

“Yeah but you never..” Maya said before getting interrupted by Malcolm

“Hi Shannon” Malcolm says as he walks towards Shannon’s locker

“Oh hey Malcolm” Shannon replied

“Why do I never see you anywhere except your locker?” Malcolm asked jokingly

“I don’t know, I guess I’m a woman of many secrets..I might not even be real right now” Shannon said laughing

Maya watched the both of them with a suspicious look before kicking Shannon

“Ouch Maya what the fu..” Shannon looks at Maya “ oh Malcolm this is my best friend Maya, Maya this is Malcolm”

“Nice to meet you Maya” Malcolm says stretching his hands forward

“Nice to meet you too” Maya replied returning his handshake

“Umm so what do you guys have during first period?” Malcolm asked

Maya replied “chemistry”

Shannon replied “AP lit”

“Wait same I also have AP lit” Malcolm replied smiling

“What a surprise" Maya whispered to herself “well I’m gonna head to my class, bye chickie” Maya said as she gave Shannon a kiss on the cheek

“So do you want to go to class together or..” Malcolm asked

“Yeah totally let’s go” Shannon replied as she shut her locker

During recess Shannon goes to the student council room and found it Empty she waited for 10 more minutes before Ethan finally showed up

“You’re late” Shannon said flatly without looking up from her binder

“I didn’t realize we were on such a strict schedule” Ethan replied with a chuckle

“We have 3months to plan and organize a gala so yeah we’re on a strict schedule” Shannon replied sternly while rolling her eyes

“Okay partner” Ethan replied with a smirk

“Told you not call me that” Shannon replied with a blank expression “let’s just get to work”

“So for the theme what are we thinking” Shannon asked tapping the binder with her highlighter

“Okay” Ethan replied while flipping through a page of ideas “ what about old Hollywood glamour?red carpet,black tie and like fake paparazzi”

“So basically an excuse for everyone to show off how expensive their outfits are?” Shannon replied looking unimpressed

“That’s..kind of the point of a gala” Ethan replied

“It’s supposed to be a charity event not a runaway show” Shannon replied with a blank expression

Ethan sighed while flipping through pages “okay what about this one,Midnight masquerade. It’s a fun concept masks,ball gowns and mystery”

“It’s still just an excuse to show off” Shannon replied

Ethan leaned back on his chair with his arms crossed “okay Genius what’s your idea”

Shanon was deep in thought for a few seconds “Okay what about ‘Beyond the applauses” so instead of the red carpet and flashy decorations we use testimonials and short videos about charity supports”

“But where’s the fun in that?” Ethan asks

“A charity gala isn’t supposed to be fun,it’s supposed to matter and encourage donations for a good purpose”

“It can literally do both” Ethan replied sounding annoyed “You act like enjoying yourself cancels out doing something for a good cause”

“I never said that” Shannon shot back

“You basically did” Ethan replied

“No I didn’t” Shannon said

“Why can’t you just try being less difficult for 5 minutes” Ethan replied looking visibly annoyed

“And could you please actually care about what this gala is for instead of caring about how it will look good for your family name” Shannon shot back

“You think I don’t care about the gala?”Ethan asked

“No I know you care about the gala but you only care about showing off you don’t really care about helping do you?”

“You haven’t even been here for two full days and you’re already so quick to judge me. Why do you always act like you have everyone figured out?” Ethan asks

“I’m just being honest” Shannon replies looking unbothered

Ethan starts packing up his things into his bag and pushes his chair backwards to stand up “I think it’s best if we cut today’s meeting short”

Shannon didn’t stop him “Fine by me”

Ethan left the room and slammed the door shut behind him

“Great we have 3 months to plan and we can’t even stay in the same room with arguing” Shannon whispered to herself as she got her phone and texted Maya to come to the student council room,immediately Maya got there Shannon broke down

“Maya he’s literally impossible to work with” Shannon yelled “he’s insufferable”

“Okay calm down” Maya said petting Shannon “what happened?”

“Okay so we were talking about themes for the gala and he kept on bringing up themes that were more about status and clothes than actually helping the community,and then we got into an argument and he kept saying I act like I have him figured out and he just stormed out” Shannon narrated

“Okay chickie you know i love you but don’t you think the gala should be a bit fun? I mean that’s what everyone looks forward to literally every year” Maya asks

“Oh my God you too?” Shannon asks

“No don’t say it like that I’m just saying if the gala is boring we’re not going to have any donors” Maya replied

“But it shouldn’t be like that” Shannon

“I know chickie but it seems Ethan was just trying to do what’s best for the gala, don’t you think?” Maya asks

“I guess” Shannon replies

“And you might have been a little rude judging him without getting to know him” Maya tells Shannon

“Oh f**k I messed up” Shannon says to herself
