Maal asked for it to be sited on the line of earth power that ran invisible but straight as a spear throw from the Sacred Circle, along the processional route, through Maal’s house, beyond and through an older burial mound, to the horizon where a notch had been cut in the skyline to lead the eye to sunset on Midsummer’s Day. Karne was among those deputed to gather stones of the right shape and size to line the tomb and the path leading to it.
