Certainly, becoming an entity that even the Androsi ancestors feared, Haiyin.DeXi was not a benevolent character. However, she was not extensively described in the book. The reason this minor, unnamed character chose Haiyin.DeXi was because, towards the end of the story, the female protagonist, Roxie Peony.Mullin, mysteriously falls into a deep sleep while seven months pregnant. The powerful male protagonist, Austin.Correll, searched for strong individuals among the Bright Witch Clan but could not awaken her. He could only watch helplessly as the life force of his beloved woman and child slowly faded away. In desperation, he ventured into the West Sea Forest, only to encounter its lord, Haiyin.DeXi. Haiyin.DeXi's status in "The Twilight Romance" is akin to that of the Sweeping Monk in "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils" or the Lady in Yellow in "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber." Austin.Correll may hold a high position among the Androsi ancestors, but the West Sea Forest was not a place where he could act recklessly. No sooner had he entered than he was beaten by Haiyin.DeXi. Recalling Haiyin.DeXi's scenes in the book, Polina couldn't help but get excited, her charming blue-grey eyes turning into typical fan-girl eyes. A distant and ethereal laughter exploded next to the kneeling and restrained Austin.Correll, chilling the powerful Androsi ancestor to the bone. Wherever he looked, numerous black mandrakes appeared, beautiful yet dangerously noble. Austin.Correll slowly lowered his proud head. A black-gold cloak trailed on the ground as a woman who seemed to have just woken up appeared, her hair as smooth as satin, and her black-purple eyes still moist. She yawned elegantly and then asked in a haunting voice, "Do you want to save them?" "Yes." The woman smiled and extended her pale, jade-like right hand towards Austin.Correll, saying, "Then hand over your body," her calm purple-black eyes glancing down, looking into Austin.Correll's eyes, "You should not be alive." "Ah," Polina chewed her bread vigorously, perhaps too excitedly biting her own lip, causing her to tear up from the pain. Just then, a young woman locked the door and came back in: "Be careful, eat slowly." "Okay," Polina had already tasted blood. Although Haiyin.DeXi did not actually take Austin.Correll's body in the end of "The Twilight Romance," she did not play the saint either. She took twelve cities from Anastasia City and the area west of the West Sea Forest to the Alsace Mountains, which was enough to make Austin.Correll wince. Now, she and her mother lived in the Rohan Plains, which would become Haiyin.DeXi's territory in the future. They would be her subjects, supporting and also being protected by her. Tap, tap, tap... Haiyin leaned against the carriage wall, stroking WuHeiHei's head. It was already dark outside, and the carriage was also pitch-black, making her wonder, "Mother, did we forget to bring a light?" Merlin sighed, "If I said yes, would you believe me?" It had been too long since they had left the West Sea Forest, and forgetting things was normal. Moreover, having a light or not made no difference to witches. "Was it on purpose?" Haiyin's eyes darted around in the darkness, slightly turning her face and pressing her ear against the carriage wall to listen carefully, "Are we fishing, waiting for some Androsi with poor eyesight to block us?" "Snort," Xiya was amused by Haiyin but had to admit, "That is indeed a good idea. Catching some small fish and shrimp before entering Anastasia City seems nice." "Shut up," Merlin glared at her thoughtless sister and then turned to her adorable daughter, "Dear baby, do you have any misunderstandings about our DeXi family?" She would never admit that her teaching was flawed, having grown up the same way without any issues. Haiyin shook her head, "No," the DeXi family needed no misunderstandings, "Mother, how long until we reach Anastasia City?" Outside, there was no movement, which was normal since it was dark, and humans would have already gone home to rest. The Androsi population was not large, and naturally born Androsi were usually supported by their families, rarely needing to forage unless injured. As for those converted later, that was a different story. Compared to naturally born Androsi, these converts had a weaker ability to suppress their bloodlust, probably because they needed the power in fresh blood to continually strengthen their bodies. "We have already left the plains. If nothing unexpected happens, we will arrive at Anastasia City in two hours," Merlin reached out to Haiyin, her tone becoming gentle, "Are you tired? Mother will hold you while you sleep." Even though she wasn't sleepy, Haiyin didn't refuse her mother's kindness. She nestled into the familiar warmth of her embrace, feeling the gentle pats on her back. Soon, her eyelids began to droop. "My dear little baby... Mom will show you the stars," Merlin softly hummed a lullaby, looking down at her daughter who was about to fall asleep, her face full of love. She checked the temperature of her palm and then wrapped her with the cloak Xiya handed over, singing, "Gently floating... little crescent moon..." Just as Haiyin's eyelids were about to close completely, the raven perched on the treasure chest, seemingly choked by something, suddenly made a "gurgle..." sound. Its claws frantically clutched the lid of the chest, and its eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets. Haiyin suddenly opened her eyes wide, sitting up sharply, while Merlin and Xiya also noticed the raven's distress. The three of them silently watched as the raven struggled desperately. But the force gripping the raven seemed incredibly strong, causing its wings to droop helplessly soon after, its eyes desperately looking at Haiyin for help. With a slight narrowing of her eyes, Haiyin finally spoke, beginning to summon, "Ananast..." "Gurgle... gurgle," the raven's claws dug into the chest lid, leaving scratch marks, its wings flapping weakly, the light in its eyes fading. "It's not going to make it," Xiya frowned deeply, realizing the raven was indeed in trouble. Merlin channeled a strand of witch power into the raven's body, but as soon as the power entered, it dispersed, "It's useless?" As the raven was about to die, Haiyin decisively grabbed it and took a thin silver needle, probing the raven's head before administering a needle prick. Wow... wow... Suddenly, the nearly lifeless raven seemed to be injected with a dose of adrenaline, its wings flapping vigorously, startling Haiyin into releasing it. Then, they watched as the raven, with a needle still stuck in its head, flew around the carriage like a headless fly, its eyes gradually regaining focus. "This works?" Xiya was somewhat incredulous. Haiyin retracted her hands, wondering if she had hit the right spot, but the raven seemed to be in pain because of it. After a quarter of an hour, the raven finally calmed down, lying on the long table as if dead, though Haiyin was sure it was still alive. Seeing it motionless for a long time, she couldn't help but gently poke it, "WuHeiHei... WuHeiHei..." "Wow," the raven suddenly raised its head. Startled, Haiyin quickly withdrew her hand. The raven stood up, shook its feathers, and walked towards Haiyin, bowing its head clearly, asking her to remove the needle. Haiyin hesitated, "WuHeiHei, I must tell you, removing this needle might not guarantee your survival," seeing the raven still bowing its head, she proceeded, "I'm going to pull it out," carefully touching the silver needle, she held her breath and gently pulled. The carriage fell silent, and it took a while before Xiya confirmed, "It's still alive, but why isn't it moving? Is it frozen?" Merlin gazed at the raven, her feelings mixed. It seemed their DeXi family had been saddled with something, no, it was more like this creature had taken a liking to her daughter. Haiyin extended a finger to poke the raven again, but before she could touch it, the raven flew off to perch on the treasure chest lid to continue its daze. "It seems I have a talent for healing," Haiyin put away the silver needle, pleased that the knowledge she had spent a lot of money on in her past life could be directly applied in this one. "Dear," Xiya shifted her gaze from the raven, pinching the little one's cheek, "Healing is something the Bright Witch Clan does. Our dark witch power is of darkness, not suitable for healing." "There are no absolutes," Haiyin was brimming with confidence, unwilling to accept any dissent, "Wasn't WuHeiHei saved by me? Today I can heal a bird, and soon I will be able to cure people." Xiya chuckled, "WuHeiHei is different. It is a dark spirit creature," but she was quite interested in that silver needle, "Was the needle you used just now forged by Mond?" "Yes," Haiy in moved closer to WuHeiHei, "I have many silver needles, all sharp and thin," she didn't keep her father's forging of the needles a secret from her family. After all, DeXi witches are adept at crafting dark weapons, especially small and delicate ones. Beneath the castle in the West Sea Forest lies a secret chamber, sealing the dark weapons forged by DeXi witches over generations, with nearly ten thousand items on record. However, according to her grandmother, the items sealed in their home were mostly useless, with the truly formidable ones buried in the tombs of DeXi witches. Among them, the most intimidating was the Serpent Staff of XIHai.DeXi. "Alright," Xiya rubbed Haiyin's head, "When we return to the West Sea Forest, auntie will give you a Night Box for your needles." "Thank you, auntie." A cry of astonishment came from the temple atop Mount Allos in the Alsace Mountains, "What do you mean, the resurrection failed?" A woman with white hair down to the ground, dressed in a white robe, leaned on a silver mirror, her silver eyes full of unwillingness, questioning the witch in the mirror dressed in Indian attire, "Why did it fail? Where is the Witch Ancestor?" "I don't know why it failed. The Witch Ancestor's soul has already fallen into a deep sleep within Austin.Correll's body," the witch gently touched her aged face, "There are secrets in Austin.Correll's body that we don't know. We must uncover these secrets, or the Witch Ancestor will never awaken."
