Will was on the terrace, he lean against the wall as he watched the night light, although the children were asleep, it's quite hard for him to sleep in a house filled with many people, growing up in the orphanage, he had always find it hard to sleep because there was always someone doing one thing or the other, he heaved then sip his wine

Janice and Ryan had occupied a room with their kids, while Shelby and Candice along with the twins had also occupied a room, they wanted to be close by when in case the child needed them and that had left him with Kyle, who had finally gone to bed after battling with himself for hours, he had snuck out for some alone time, he heaved, he had seen a different side of Shelby recently, although, it's wasn't bad, infact it only made him like her more, for someone that doesn't care about relationship, she had put more effort into helping Candice than she does for her family...

"Can I join you?" Shelby stood just outside the terrace, waiting for his invite.

He smiled at her, this is also one of the reasons they are still together, her recognition of boundaries, "sure."

"And this is the last of the boxes." Kyle dropped the box on the table, they had spent a couple of night in their place and had finally moved in on Christmas morning.

"By the tree." she pointed to the undecorated Christmas tree currently in the center of the living room.

Kyle moved the box to the Christmas tree where all he kids are waiting.

"Candice, I think the children will start staring daggers at you if you don't get here fast enough."

"Found it." she pulled out a wrapped polythene bags.

"What is it?" Janice sked

"You'll see." she walked towards them briskly then picked an ornament, "shall we?"

Everyone smiled and they all attached the ornaments to the tree.

"Hey!!!!" the kids clapped when the last of the ornaments has been used, the adult chuckled as they what the children excitement.

"Where's mum?" Jamie asked

"Candice?" Janice called, .

She had stroll off while no one was watching.

"Where's she?"

"Here?" she joined them.

"Where were you?" Shelby asked.

She dropped the hammer to the utensils box, "I was hiding the star."

"Oh!" Janice turned to the kids, "alright kids, go find the star."

The children ran towards the room in search of the star.

"I hope you didn't attached it to a roof." Shelby smiled.

"Of course not." she looked at the adult.

"What were you doing with the hammer?"

She looked at Shelby then grinned, "come here." she pulled her along to the small passage at then stopped in front of the last door.

"What?" Shelby looked at her

She looked at the door then Shelby.

Shelby followed her gaze to the door, on the door was her name broadly written, "What, what is this?"

"Your room." Candice replied excitedly.

"My...I can't have a room here, this.. you aren't my family, this, this isn't..."

"Whatever." Candice turned her gaze away, "this is yours, it's your room, one no one can enter without your permission, only for you." she grinned then hands her the keys and then returned back to the living room where Jayden had found the star and the kids where cheering, Candice lifted Jayden across her neck then let him out the star on the tree.

"Hey." the children clapped.

Ryan took their pictures then she put Jayden down and they went to play.

"Where's Shelby?" Will asked

"In her room."

"Room?"

Everyone turned to Candice.

"Yeah, I went to show her her room."

"She has a room here?" Will asked

"Yeah, she might not know it or might never accept it but she is as much a part of my family as Eden or Janice is."

"Wow, I never knew you were that close." Will said.

"We... We are close." she shrugged, "well as close as Shelby can ever let anybody be."

Will smiled then continued to sip his wine.

"I guess there's no mass today."

Janice shook her head,

"That's fine, we can have fun arranging."

Will, Kyle and Shelby excuse themselves to go spend Christmas with their families while the rest stood behind and unpack.
