"Hey?" Janice opened the door, "you are early?"

Will chuckled as they all walked in.

"Take a seat." she gestured to the sofa.

"Here." Will handed her a bottle of wine while Kyle presented his basket of fruit.

"Thanks, you didn't have to." she took it from them, and place on the dinning table.

"We didn't want to come empty handed."

"Thank you." she smiled then turned to Ryan, "did you come empty handed?"

The friends chuckled as they took their seat.

"Not exactly." he mumbled

"Then where is it?"

"In the car."

"Go bring it." she stole a look at his friends, "I can't wait to see the hilarious gift."

"Do you need help?" Will volunteered.

Ryan eyed him then turned to Janice, "the kids?"

"They are up, they will make an entrance."

"Then is Candice in the kitchen?" Kyle asked.

Janice smiled, "I wish, but festivities cooking are done by our great chef, Shelby."

"Shelby's here." Will turned to her.

"Yeah, she always spend all festivities with us."

"Oh!"

"Should I call her?"

"No." he shook his head.

Janice nodded then turned to Ryan, "now go get the gift, I want to see it before the kids does."

Ryan grumbled under his breath while his friends chuckled.

Janice shook her head took the gift off the dinning table and into the kitchen when she returned the living room was crowded with four hugh stuff toys, she exclaimed then burst out laughing.

Shelby walked into the living room to check the commotion and ends up laughing, "it's always fun to come here but this..." she chuckled "it's beyond hilarious." she chuckled again.

"What is this?" Janice asked,

"Well you said the kids are matured, it's says age, seven to 9."

Everyone except Ryan burst into another round of laughter.

Janice sniffled as she sobered up, "I should get rid of it before you end up giving my kids nightmares."

"Wait, till they see it." Shelby said

"Seriously, you know they don't fancy stuff toys."

"True but their expression will make a nice picture." she laughed.

"Oh!" Janice winked, then grinned, "I can quite imagine it but if they have any nightmares, you are sleeping over."

"Done, take the men up and let them set the table, the turkey will be ready in 15 minutes, that's enough time for our entrance."

"Okay, go inform Candice."

Shelby nodded then went upstairs.

"What entrance, is someone else coming?" Ryan asked.

"No, we always make an entrance during thanks giving."

"Entrance..."

It's a tradition..." She tried explaining but change her mind, "you'll see, let's go." the men followed her to the roof where the table was almost set.

After a few minutes, they were done settings the table, Janice looked at the men, "let's go down, you can hold the camera this year."

The men followed her downstairs where she handed Ryan the camera, "here, take the pictures as we come down..." then she pointed to the video camera behind them, "do not block the video, Shelby will have you castrated."

"Janice." Shelby screamed from above.

"Yes." Janice replied

"I'm leading the entrance."

"I'm sharing the grace." Candice screamed back.

"Fine, I'll crave the turkey." she yelled back, she turned to the guys who were exchanging looks, "just the very nice picture, infact, you all should, we'll select the best."

The guys nodded.

"you can start in five minutes."

"We've got it." Ryan nodded.

"Good, I'll go change." she ran upstairs and change her dress.

The guys shared a look then Kyle spoke, "this feels like prom all over."

"Yeah, I'm sure Candice will love to hear about your date to prom."

"Okay, it's almost five minutes." Kyle took out his phone.

Will chuckled then brought his phone as they waited for the ladies.

Shelby made her way down first, in a bright red turtle necked flowing gown, with it full sleeves, and white gloves not an iota of her skin can be seen by the guys other than her face,

Will smiled as he took her picture, he walked to the based of the stairs and extended his hands to her.

Shelby smiled as she took it and let him help her down, she curtsey to him slightly then turned to watch Candice, who was next.

Will suck in air through his teeth when he saw the back of her dress or rather the back less back, other than the tiny clasp on her neck, there was no other strap on her back.

Shelby smiled at his reaction, then looked ahead, it was the main reason she chose the dress.

Will put his hand on the small of her back, "you look beautiful." he whispered.

She smiled, "I think I'll look more beautiful without the dress."

"I can help with that." he slides his hand lower and squeeze her butt.

She smiled then set her camera as Candice had began to make her way down, unlike Shelby, she was dress in a black straight gown without any flare, she pulled her pony tail across one shoulder as she marched down, she seams to not have put in any effort at all but the black was shining against her pale white skin, making her looks simple and attractive.

Kyle smiled at her and extended his hand to help her down, she took his offer then nodded to him then turned to watch the children, she removed her phone and waited,

Jamie made his way down, in his blue suit, tailored to fit him, he looked no less handsome than his father,

"Ohhhh!" Candice hoot when he stopped shyly in the middle of the stairs

Shelby handed Will her phone then started clapping.

Jamie smiled then walked down to her arms, Shelby hugged him, then patted his head as they waited for Jasmine to walk down.

Jasmine put his hand in his pocket and grinned, in his black suit and shoe, he slowly made his way down, he grinned at Jamie who was laughing.

Candice hoot and clapped as the kid made his way down way down.

Jayden smiled at his mother then slung his grean and gray jacket over his shoulder, her matched down in his army attire while the spectator, clapped, hoot and laughed.

"And now..." Candice shouted, "I present to you..." she smiled, "...the queen of queen." she smiled at Shelby, "the queen of the universe, Edeeeeeeeen." she screamed.

Eden smiled as she made her way down with a crown on her head, her hair firmly held at her nape, in her black leather pants and jacket, holding a wooden sword, she stood at the foot of the stairs then pointed her sword to the kids, "bow to your queen."

Candice grinned and curtsey, as did Shelby and the men bow to her and she smiled, she turned to the kids who were grinning at her, "bow to your queen."

"No." Jayden stuck out his tongue then ran away, causing Eden tho chase after him, the adult let the kid run around as they waited for Janice who slowly made her way down in a blue flowing dress, starting from her neck in light blue, it's shade got deeper, till it was royal blue at the ankle, she smiled at Ryan who offered her his hand and help her down after taking her picture.

"Did you get it?"

Candice check the video cam, "we will check the footage later." she collected the camera from Ryan, "the pictures are okay, we will check later." she put the camera around her neck then turned to call the kids, she stood bewildered when she saw why the kids had stopped chasing each other, in front of them was four hugh stuff teddy bear in weird colour, "what in God's name is this?"

Shelby took the camera from her and started taking the kids pictures.

The boys slowly made their way backward.

"I told you, they will be scared." Janice went to the kids and sheild them

"Not all." Shelby nodded towards Eden who was moving closer to the teddy bears, she pointed her sword at the bear then touched it, when she saw no reaction, she moved closer then punched it, she giggled when she saw no reaction then began to hit it more.

"Of course, Eden will find a use for it." Candice scoffed.

Eden turned to her mum, "mum, can I keep it?"

"Can you even lift it?"

She dropped her sword then lifted the bear and end up falling on her butt, she turned to her mother for help,

"Well if you were eating your greens, you'd be able to."

"Well, I'll start eating it." Eden stood.

"Promise?"

"Promised." Eden stamped her mother's hand.

"Fine then, I guess it can stay." Candice grabbed two of the Bears, one in each arm and Shelby joined her in carrying the rest.

"Kids, let's go up." Janice announced.

"What of mum?" Eden asked as they made their way to the roof,

"She will return with the turkey and camera."

After the meal, they sat lazily and watch as the children ran around, Janice shared a look with Candice, who nodded in agreement.

"Kids take a seat." the children looked at her then continued running.

"Behold the power of sugar." Shelby grinned

"The first to take a seat gets an Ice cream." Candice announced.

The children ran to her and all sat next to her.

"I.I.I.I, they echoed.

"Okay, you all get an ice cream so listen to mummy."

The kids turned to Janice eagerly.

"Sit right." she heaved as they sat up.

"Jamie and Jayden."

"Yes."

"Do you remember asking me why you had two mum and no dad?"

The kids nodded.

"Yes, you said mummy is our aunt and Jayden and Eden's mum." Jamie replied.

"Good." she patted his head, "do you remember what I said about your dad?"

Jamie shook his head.

"You said he died and went into the ground." Jasmine said tearfully.

Ryan suck in breath while Janice gasped, his friends held their breath and Candice and Shelby chuckled lightly.

"I didn't say that." Janice turned to Ryan.

"Stupid." Eden scoffed, "it our Dad that died and went to the ground."

The adult looked at Candice who smirked at them.

"Really?" Jasmine sniffled.

"Yes, but I'm gonna have a new dad one day." Eden grinned, "Katie daddy also died and went to heaven but her mum got her a new daddy."

Candice chuckled, "so where do you intend to get a new one, from the shopping mall?"

"The church, Katie got her daddy from the church." Eden replied proudly.

"Oh, oh, aren't you just a smarty pants and whose is this smart daughter?" Candice grinned.

"Yours." Eden shouted then jumped into her laps.

Candice smiled brightly as she spoked in Spanish, "that crazy motherfucking Katie and her two left legs of a mother, I better not be running into them soon or they might find themselves without their tongue, they always fill my angels ears with nonsense."

"Mum, are you cursing?"

"No Angelina." she kissed her forehead then nodded to Janice to continue.

"Okay kid, hmm about your dad..."

The children turned their attention back to her.

"Yeah." Eden sat up, "what happened to him?"

"Yeah, you didn't tell us." Jayden asked.

"Did he also die?" Jasmine asked.

"No." she shook her head.

"Then where is he?" Jamie asked.

Janice looked at Candice who nodded then, she pointed to Ryan, "there."

The kids turned to Ryan.

"Is uncle Ryan their dad?" Eden asked.

"Yes." Janice nodded.

"Is he not your boyfriend?" Jamie asked.

"He is."

Jasmine heaved, "Doris mum and dad are married." he turned to Janice, "are you two married?"

"No." she shook her head.

Candice grinned as she slowly sipped her wine enjoying the show.

"Then are you like Katie's mum."

"Huh!" Janice squeezed her face.

Candice chuckled.

"Katie's dad was also her mum's boyfriend before they got married." Jasmine said.

Janice groaned and also send a series of curse to Katie's parent as she think of a way to explain, when she found none, she smiled at the kids and said, "you do know that Katie's mum is old?"

"Yes." they nodded

"Well I'm very young."

The children looked at her and nodded.

"Good." she patted Jasmine head then smirked at Candice.

"I can't believe you just scammed them." Candice said in Spanish

"Says who?" Janice smirked.

"So I have a daddy?" Jamie smiled.

"Yes and he's next to you."

The children looked at Ryan again who was sitting tongue glued.

Eden looked at Janice, "I still don't understand."

Janice smiled and picked a slice of watermelon and gave it to her, "you need to eat more fruits."

"Where was he before?" Jasmine asked.

"Ha ha, the question I was waiting for." Candice chuckled, "I knew you were the smartest." she kissed his forehead, "so why not ask him, he's your dad, so he must have an answer."

The children scoot closer to him, "where were you?" Jasmine asked.

"Yes, you didn't come for my birthday last year." Jamie said.

"Yes, you aren't in any of our pictures." Eden whispered loudly.

"Yeah, where were you?" Jasmine persisted.

Ryan looked at Janice for assistance but she looked away.

"Hmm, I.... I didn't know."

"Huh?" Jamie looked at him.

"Know..." Jayden look at him.

"Know what?" Jasmine asked.

"I... I'm sorry." he looked away.

"He was working." Will supplied.

"Working." The children looked at Will.

"Does he build?" Jasmine asked.

"Well, buil..." Will began to answer then saw Janice shook her head,

"kids why not ask your dad?" he turned them to him.

"Do you build house?"

"House?"

"Yes, like the one we went for valentine."

"Did you build it?"

"Yes." Ryan nodded.

"Really." Eden exclaimed.

"Then will you leave again?" Jamie asked.

"No."

"Jean dad builds so he's always away but he comes on weekends." Jasmine explained.

"No, I won't leave." he patted Jamie.

"Then will you live with us?" Jasmine asked.

"No, I... I don't know yet."

"Oh!" Eden heaved and collapsed against her mother in a dramatic princess style, "I'm jealous."

"Why?" Candice cradled her.

"Jasmine and Jamie now has a daddy."

"Yeah." Jayden scoot closer, "we are the only one without a dad in my class."

"Oh!" Candice dropped her glass then picked some groundnut and continue eating.

"So..." Eden sat up and looked at her, "you can get us a dad from the church too."

Candice stopped eating then looked at her, "Katie's dad died and went to heaven, that's why she got a new dad."

"Really?" Eden stood, "does that mean you will get us a new daddy too?"

Janice grinned then stick out her tongue to Candice who smirked.

She patted Jayden gently and pulled Eden closer, "I told you your dad died, right?"

"Huh uh." they nodded.

"And I told you he was buried."

"Yes."

"Good, you see Katie's dad died and went to heaven that's why she can get a new dad in the church but when you dad died, he was buried..."

"So my dad didn't go to heaven?" Eden sat up.

"Yes." Candice replied leaving the adult jaw dropping.

"Does that mean I can't get a new dad." she relax dejectedly.

"Yes." she hugged her, "we are stucked together, forever."

"Then maybe uncle Ryan could be my dad too." she sat up again.

"No." Candice shook her head, "if uncle Ryan does, he will go to hell."

"Huh?" .the Crowd gasped

"Can...can." Janice tried to stop her but she continued.

"Do you want uncle Ryan to go to hell?"

"No." Eden shook her head

"Good." she patted her head.

"Then I'm the only girl without a dad?"

"I don't have a dad either, neither do aunt Janice."

Eden stood and sniffled her tears, "thank you for the meal." she bowed then ran into her room.

Jayden looked at Candice then followed .

The twins looked at each other then Ryan who looked at Janice who nodded, the twin stood then followed their cousins.

"Wow, way to go Candice, that was terrible, how could you break her heart like that?" Janice scoffed.

"It's better than giving her false hope. She will heal."

"Candice." she held her hand, "you are just 23, there are going to be..."

"When I decide to, I'll tell them and they will be glad and surprise but if I give her hope now, she's going to expect a wedding next Sunday." she stood, "I have work to do so, I'll leave you alone." she nodded to them.

"Actually, we need to talk." Kyle stood.

"Tell me what it's about and I'll get back to you when I'm chanced..." she turned to shelby "Shelby."

Shelby stood.

"Liar." he grabbed her hand, "Shelby, let me borrow her for a while."

Shelby held his hand, "actually you can't." she show him her phone which has a notification of 45 missed call, "we are busy."

The two went down.

"She's actually busy, she working on something so badly she hardly sleeps these days, although she promised to tell me when she's ready, so right now I'm on suspense."

"Well, we might have a good idea what that is." Will stood.

"Really?"

"Yeah, we will let Ryan tell you."

"Okay." she stood

"Thanks for the meal."

"No big deal."

They hugged her then left.

She turned to Ryan after they drove away, "What do you think she's working on?"

"Well firstly about tonight, thank you , I know it wasn't easy."

"It wasn't, so you better be worth it."

"I'll try."

"You did, so what do you have to tell me?" she sat on the sofa

He took his sat next to her, "I think Candice might be involved with some dangerous people."

"Why?, how?"

"Well, I discovered she own about 65percent of pride share."

"what, she doesn't have that kind of money."

"Well she does and there might be more."

"What?"

"Ask her, I really don't care what she does to the enterprise, I just wanted to let you know."

"Yeah, thanks." she stood.

"Where to?" he grabbed her hand.

"I was going to."

"She will guess I told you."

"Well, I..."

"Come on, we are just getting in her good grace, Kyle will kill me if I jeopardize that."

"Fine." she relaxed, "well I should check on the kids."

"Or." he put his hand around her waist, "you could stay here with me." he nozzled around her neck.

She smiled, "the kids may come down."

"They are comforting their friends."

"Still." she squirm as he work on her knots.

"We'll known when they are coming." he lifted her to his laps, "I just want to thank you for today." he whispered then kissed her.

"Why are you kids outside?" Candice asked the boys who were standing outside their room as she was going to her room with Shelby.

"Eden won't open myself door."

"Let me." Candice knock on the door, "Eden, Eden love."

"Go away." Eden screamed.

"Okay, I'll, I just wanted to tell you that there are others ways to get you a daddy other than the church."

Eden scramble off the bed and open the door, "where?"

"At the office, school, court..."

"Like aunt Janice and uncle Ryan."

"Yeah." Candice carried her in.

"So you will also get me a dad?"

"Not today but I'll get you one, one day."

"When?"

"When you are as tall as Marilyn."

"Marilyn is 15." she count her hands, "does that mean you will get me a daddy in eight years?"

"Yeah."

"And uncle Ryan cannot be my daddy till then?"

"No, he can't."

Eden shrugged then nodded, "Fine, I'll wait and be good."

"Okay princess, clean your face, I'll call the boys in and... it's our little secret."

Eden grinned.

Candice patted her gently then went to her room where the boys were waiting with Shelby.

"Hey guys, she's okay." she gesture to the door and they all made their way to Eden.
