THEODORE
I really wanted to be pissed over Valerie vomiting on my body but I couldn’t. She was punishing herself enough.
I didn’t know Kim’s death took life out of Valerie this way. If they were placed together right now, you would think Valerie was the dead one. It was that bad. I wondered why she dyed her hair red too. I think she hated herself more than she hated me.
I left her to go have a bath and change my clothes. I always have spare clothes but unluckily for me. My spare clothes here weren’t my usual tux or suits. It was my PJ’s. I had my bath quickly and I changed into my PJ’s.
I went back with my gun to Valerie and I looked at her. Her eyes were closed but she was very much aware of her surroundings. In the past two years of watching her. She is slowly going mad.
“Why did you want to start a war between my family and another? You don’t know how lucky you are that I am the one who keeps getting you when you do these things. My men will kill you without thinking.” I sat a bit far from her.
She opened her eyes and that was the day, I saw what pure hatred looks like.
“I don’t care, I don’t want to be f*****g lucky. If you are going to kill me. You better get to it. Now! If not, immediately I get out of this place. I am going to start a war with every single mafia family including mine.” She cried, “I don’t care if I die, if you die, if my mother does. All of you are not equal to one of Kim. So, you, Mr. Enzo. You had better kill me. Better do.” She blew the hair on her lips with a little air from her mouth.
Valerie was always annoying and a rage baiter but now she was not nearly as organized as then. She always wanted a death wish but now she was full on crazy.
I smiled, “You know, you dying isn’t punishment. It’s a reward. Each time you try to start a war I’ll get you kidnapped and you’ll be there for a month until you learn how to behave.” I pointed the gun at her.
She laughed, “You can’t kill me. A mafia lord who only kills innocent girls, you can’t kill me.”
I didn’t like thinking of Kimberly. She wasn’t meant to die, she was way too sweet. It wasn’t part of the f*****g plan.
“You won’t blackmail me, good night.” I left her there and I thought of what she would eat tomorrow. I kept her locked in the building all alone. I got into my car and I started the engine. As I drove with one hand, I brought out a cigarette from my pocket with the other but I couldn’t reach my lighter. I parked my car by the side of the street. Where the hell is my lighter? I searched my pocket and everywhere in my car. Did I leave it at home? I was sure I carried it with me. I decided to check my house. I drove quickly to my house. I ignored all the greetings of my men and I just walked upstairs. I scattered my office and my room searching for that lighter but it was no where to be found. I would have thought Valerie took it but she had no free hand. She couldn’t.
I checked the camera I installed in the building to be sure but Valerie was no longer there. In fact, the rope looked burnt on the edges. Did she go back to the Skull family’s warehouse? Does that girl want to die?
“Lord Enzo.” A man of mine barged into my office.
“What gave you the audacity?” I asked angrily.
He trembled and his bottom lips were shaking, “I’m sorry sir but two of our warehouses are burning as we speak.
I couldn’t move, “What?”
“Two of our warehouses are burning as we speak,” he repeated himself.
“Which and which?”
“The drugs and the cars.”
I held my chest, my dad ran this business for forty five years and I have ran it for just six. I have crashed his business to the ground. All because of Valerie Russo.
Oh! The battle line has been drawn.
I tried to look unaffected, “Let’s go check it out,” I said.
When we got there, I calculated all the money I lost. It was over 10 billion dollars.
I could feel Valerie and the universe laughing and telling me ‘f**k you’.
