Ashton POV After three hours in a plane and with two more hours to go in a car, we were on our way to Liz’s home in a small North Carolina town called Tryon. Roscoe fell asleep the moment the car started moving away from the airport, and Bethany and Bianca also rested for the majority of the car ride. I couldn’t rest yet. My eyes were glued on a land I had never seen before. Flat land was new to me, so I was fascinated to see the long, flat highways in what Liz called ‘the piedmont’ region of the state. I wished we were headed the other direction. I secretly longed to see the ocean, but Liz and her family lived in the mountains. I was only mildly curious about the Appalachian range.
