We all sat around the table for the last night before we had to go our separate ways. It was bittersweet in some respects. It was wonderful to have Eman and Mwenya at the table making the mood lively as their presence always does, but at the same time we’re all preparing for a battle that some of us may not return from. It’s a morbid thought, but it is reality in war. We’re facing a powerful set of opponents who are bloodthirsty and insane. They won’t follow rules of warfare or show mercy. We know that, and so despite the lively conversation, the atmosphere is still a little heavy.
