The birds began to chirp their morning melody as the sky lit up in various shades of warm colours. Kieran and I each had a beer in hand and both were immersed in our own versions of how the events leading up to Charlie’s return will unfold. So far, neither of us imagine her to be as ecstatic as we are. “So what are you going to say to her when she finally steps through that door and into our awaiting arms brother?” I chuckled when I noticed the frown slowly creeping up Kieran’s face.
