Charlie’s POV
I was startled when I suddenly woke up and was greeted by a bottomless darkness. It didn’t matter which direction that I looked in. The whole room was pitch black and my body felt weightless. This was my new normal for whatever long it was. I could no longer tell time. Everything in this place felt, moved and looked the same.
There was a moment of awareness and I shook with relief. I heard a sweet, melodious voice calling out, whether to me, I wasn’t sure. So I did the only thing I could. That was to try my hardest to focus on that voice, follow it.
“Charlie? Charlie? Can you hear me” That same voice got louder and clearer. I tried to move my finger with great effort and a sigh of relief escaped me when it wiggled slightly. “Oh, thank goodness! She is responsive” I heard
