I gasped out and Lucien’s posture shifted instantly. His calm demeanor vanished. His body became taut steel, as he sharply turned to face the Gamma Supreme.
“Why didn't you contact me immediately?” His voice was a low growl by now.
“We tried, Alpha.” Gamma's tone was urgent, seemingly helpless, “but we couldn't connect to you.”
“Damn it!” Lucien cursed under his breath, he already started moving.
“Training dismissed for today.” He uttered, without paying me a glance and started walking away.
I blinked, and before I knew I moved after him, “wa-ait! I'll come with you!” I said hurriedly, the healer’s instinct kicking in immediately.
“This isn’t your place, Evelara,” he growled at me, now looking at my direction.
