The following morning…
Dawn had barely touched the sky when a sharp knock stirred me awake and some hushed voices outside.
I groaned in annoyance, rubbing my eyes, ‘Who the hell is dying!?’ I mumbled before tottering toward the door and opening it.
The young servant stood before me. Her eyes darted behind me, perhaps to Eryx, and when she realised he was still asleep, a gush of relief washed over her.
I raised a brow, “Yes?”
She looked up at me flatly and then presented a parchment sealed with black wax, upon which the Alpha Supreme's crest seemed to gleam ominously.
My stomach twisted with a strange sensation.
“What is this?” I asked, trying not to appear scared.
