The Meal was luscious tonight that Maria almost doubted it was a trap by one of those who hated her. It was rare to find a plate of yummy food placed on the cabinet for no one in particular.

She was sure it was only her and nobody else that hasn’t eaten since she was in treatment and the only people who couldn’t have eaten by that time were Cleaven and Lena.

Having no other source of dinner, she picked the plate and devour the food in no time taking a lot of water to push it down completely. She gulfed and quickly cover her mouth looking around to see if anyone else was around.

But immediately after the food went down, she felt a sharp pain jab her lower stomach and held it wondering if she had eaten too much.

She try to recollect if it was her period yet but then another sharp excruciating pain went down her stomach and she fell down groaning in pain. The pain wasn’t a familiar one and soon she begin to feel heat forming on her forehead due to the painful struggle.

She wanted to cry out for help but nothing was coming out and she could only squeeze her face which could not help with the pain as she could not scream it out.

Frustrated and miserable, she grabbed the cup that has fallen from her hand and try to stand up to get water for herself but her body won’t push itself up.

It felt like her intestines were burning up in furnace and her other body parts want to separate from it. The urge to vomit everything she has eaten came but it was hard to open her lips to force it out.

She finally let of the cup when it felt like her limbs was getting paralyzed by the burning and she groan more crying inwardly for a save.

“it will work after she takes water?” Lena asked Naira for confirmation after Maria was taking the third scoop of the meal and she was still not on the ground. She had wanted her to drop dead just at a taste of the meal.

“i told you, taking water after taking the poison is the way to make it effective, it is a rare poison that even a powerful wolf can’t resist” Naira said already upset at her impatience.

“What if she does not take water after eating?” Lena asked worried again but Naira ignored her and worried about getting things done and escaping back before Toby finds out she was gone.

After the impatient wait, Maria finally gulped a large quantity of water down and the poison took effect almost immediately. They both smiled in relief and satisfaction when she falls to the floor and Naira wanted to leave immediately her back touches the ground.

Albeit, Lena insisted on seeing her dead before leaving and that upset Naira more, she could not risk getting caught by Toby, that would probably end their relationship.

Waiting for minutes was too much for Lena after waiting to see Maria really dead but she kept whining on the ground, so she matched out of her hideout with Naira stepping out to stop her but it was too late.

“Why won’t you dead? You are so annoying!” she yelled crazily scaring Naira who was behind her.

Naira take a look at the poor girl on the floor fighting for her life and wondered how she was yet alive till now, the poison was supposed to kill her immediately . seeing her suffering and struggling on the ground, she finally felt guilt for helping Lena in her evil plan to get rid of such harmless girl.

‘I can’t watch this anymore, I am leaving” she said and hurried out.

Lena ignored her cowardly attitude and proceed to turn Maria around with her foot, she put her feet on her and remembered how she had break her bones earlier. In fury, she bend down and proceed to break her arms while she watch her try to open up and scream.

Seeing all her veins out all around her head as she tried to scream out the pain, she smiles in pleasure and let go. She waited for few seconds to her for finally drop but when it didn’t happen and her hateful brown eyes kept staring at her.

“Why won’t you just die?” she asked in great annoyance and in blinded rage, deciding to end it by her own hands, she look around and her eyes settled on the knives.

Without hesitating, she rush to pick the knife and stabbed Maria without batting her eyes.

“Just die already, Die you b***h!” she yelled angrily and keep stabbing until she was sure that her eyes were no longer staring at her interrogatively but they are opened to cold death.

When she was sure that she was dead, Lena breathed out in big relief and in seconds, she laughed out loud like someone who had just won a battle and return home victoriously.

After a while, she realized that she was standing on top of a dead body and sooner, some body might come in and see the scene. At the thought of this she panicked and dropped the knife on the floor right inside the pool of blood on the floor beside the body.

She became confused for a while and then she decided to get rid of the body as soon as possible, having no choice to avoid getting away, she called someone that she knew she could trust in the situation.

“What the hell have you done?” Gabriel yelled angrily at her seeing the dread scene in the kitchen.

“I need you to dispose of the body” she said to him not caring about the look on his face or what he thought of her now.

“Why would I involve myself in your crime? You did it and should face it alone” he argued stepping back but Lena moved at her boldly.

“Why did you come then? You should have refused my call?” she stated and put an arm around his neck then push it down so their faces could come closer.

“Remember, you are always meant to protect me, that is your duty to me and after I get to the Luna, I will make you my Alpha” she told him staring deep into his eyes.

Gabriel stared back into her eyes getting mesmerized by her and her words, he slowly nodded his head and she kissed him hard on the lips.

“Now help me” she told him and he nodded softly.

Together, they carried the body and went far behind the border of the Silver Crest, into the new territory and dump the body there.

The wind however seem to be blowing really hard that night and Lena didn’t get the chance for a final look as she protect her body from the cold with her arms and went in front to quickly go clean the mess on the kitchen floor before anyone sees it.

“You are back!”

The voice said loud and clear and it felt familiar like she has just returned back home to the place she actually belonged to. Feeling comfortable and happy now, Maria open up her lips and smile at the one walking towards her.
