“You have to keep your eyes on your enemy, make sure to stare directly into the eyes to intimidate him”
“Don’t look away” Cleaven yell at Maria who keep avoiding his gazes.
He had decided to take the job away from Toby and do it himself, if he would let her go, then he should make sure she is able to defend herself in the outside world.
“How about I fight her instead? I won’t go soft on her” Lena who was standing near with the other speculators suggested.
The only thing she has been seeing so far was the two flirting with each other and nothing more and all she desired is to break Maria’s bones into a thousand.
Cleaven sigh and look at Lena, for the past fourteen days, he has been trying to force her wolf out by rigorous body training but all that didn’t work. Even though he knew Lena abhor hatred and could not wait to drive Maria out, he decided to use her to force Maria to show her strength.
Lena might be right that he was being too soft on her because he keep holding back whenever he grabbed her fragile body.
“sure” he let out and Lena although surprise smile happily for the chance.
She will take this moment to have the revenge she seek on the wench and could fake it as an accident.
Maria look sharply at Cleaven hearing him agree to have her fight Lena, she wondered if he has lost it for a second. He knows how much Lena loathe her and yet he want her to fight with her.
“It’s a Raza, you must defend against her or you will lose your limbs” He told her before backing away to give space for the two ladies.
Maria look at Lena and could sense the resentment coming from her, she quickly guided herself and lock eyes with her like she has been taught.
She waited for Lena’s first move and just like she predicted, she came at her with a full forceful rage, Maria prepare herself to defend as Lena charge towards her but unexpectedly, she shifted in an instant causing Maria to lose focus and break her defense as she stare at the red faced black wolf which stretched it claws at her.
She quickly fall to the ground and was lucky to guide her face with her arms as the wolf bounce on her and try to make scratches on her face. It claws flapped and flapped making Maria to move back in order to avoid it but she didn’t give up.
It grabbed her by the arm and throw her against one of the big trees nearby crushing her back into it.
Maria fell donw feeling her bones broken and hit her face on the ground, she check to see if her nose bleed but the black wolf Lena charged at her again and this time she quickly move in at a kick and throw it back.
She felt her foot hurting at the attack and cower when the wolf grunt at her furiously, she swallowed down and make a fist trying not to lose it and run away.
Lena charge at her again but this time diversifying her route so she wouldn’t guess where she is coming from exactly and grab her neck with her talons. She push it in grabbing tight onto her throat and smirk seeing the blood oozing out.
Maria grab unto the wolf trying to push it off but it held on stronger wanting to snap her neck and at the last minute when she couldn’t think of what to do, she grabbed harder on the wolf and summoning up strength she crushed it ribs under her fists.
It immediately fall off her neck and wiggled in pain letting out a painful howl and change back to Lena who doesn’t look good.
Cleaven rush to her to see if she was okay and when he saw her state, he dart her eyes at Maria who was sitting on the ground with her palms around her bleeding neck.
“Toby take care of her” he said and carry Lena out to be treated.
Maria watch him leave without caring to see how she was, she get up with Toby’s help and let him put a cloth around her neck to stop the bleed, as he try to help her walk, she look up and saw Naira’s killing gaze strangling her.
She immediately jolt away from Toby and rush out of the scene to avoid another wolf dropping her dead.
Maria grumble at the bandage on her neck and sigh deeply as she make her way to get her food from the kitchen. She has slept off in the clinic and it was well past dinner time, she pray she still get dinner as she walk the dark part.
On the way, she meet few warriors walking the opposite direction and they paused on seeing her, not wanting to fall into their trap since neither Cleaven or Toby was around but she got stopped by one of them.
“How did you manage to beat Lena today? Have you being pretending to be weak all these while?” he throw at her.
“i just want to be your friend” he said and stretch out his hand.
Maria stare at his palm for a moment before taking it, the others also come forward and bombard her with questions on how she was able to beat Lena. She wanted desperately to tell them that she was also beaten up but they didn’t seem to care.
“I’ve always wonder why the Alpha hasn’t proposed to Lena yet, at first we all thought it was because of her mean heart” the only girl in the group commented and they all chuckle as they agree.
“With your presence, the place of the Luna is no longer certain, no wonder Lena want you dead”
Maria listen to them badmouth Lena for a while and realize she was also hated by them. She had thought herself of the only outcast here. Lena’s identity must have cower them and make them always do what she says.
“i don’t think the Alpha would want someone as weak as Lena to be his Luna any more”
“If Maria could defeat her so can I” the girl said and the rest laugh it out.
Maria decided to walk away from them and find herself something to devour before she faints from hunger.

Lena listened to the chappers and wanted to rip their heads off thei body but Naira grab her by the waist fast to stop her, they have a good plan in place and they can’t afford to give themselves out.
They only have twenty minutes maximum to do what they had come for before TOby and Cleaven find out they are gone.
Naira brought out the poison she has prepared and hesitated before pouring it into the food inside the plate, Lena seeing her hesitating, snatch it awy from her and pour every content into the food.
“why didn’t you bring more?” she yelled at Naira who is feeling a bit afraid of what they are doing.
“that was all I could get” she informed.
Lena angrily throw the container on the floor and scream out in anger but Naira hush her so they won’t be heard. She has lost her temper back on the field and almost ruin their plan instead.
They both waited in a safe place and watch Maria walk into the kitchen, she looked around for a while before sighting the plate on the cabinet.
