Ivory keep smiling at everyone at the party and felt like she was going insane. It was hard for her pretend to be happy when she was indeed not dejected about her life. Bob had warned her seriously before they got to the party to behave properly like a happy wife.
She know if she dare let anyone find out something was going on with her, it would spell doom for her with Bob when they get back home. It took her so long to realize that Bod only wanted a show and obedience wife, he never really cared about how she feels.
In her misery, she saw Lucky for the first time in two years and immediately it lighten up her worst mood, she could not bring herself to resist so she walked right up to him feeling so happy to see him after such a long time.
