After the failed ritual, Maria, on the request of Lena who is so enrage that the rejection ceremony didn’t end well, is sent to an old house which is at the border of the main house.

Servants who work for the royals lives few distances away from there, Lena would have preferred making her one of the servants or better still getting rid of her but she knows how nice Cleaven is and how soft he has been since he brought the dread dumb girl home.

She has been together with Cleaven for three years now and even before that, she get trained by her Dad who was also Alphas’ Trainer so she has been training with Cleaven ever since he was a boy.

Their relationship kick off when Cleaven confessed his heart to her and for a long while, she has secretly been afraid that one day like this, the moon goddess would grant him a mate and Luna who isn’t her.

Lena had prayed for him not to meet his supposed date and even if the dread situation finally presents itself, she promised herself to get rid of it and that is exactly what she is going to do with the b***h that has appeared out of nowhere to steal what was hers.

She pretended every night while she lay beside Cleaven and endured him desiring another woman which isn’t her and getting rejected by him every night. She knows that Prince wants to mate with his beloved and she has suffered herself to bed with the tormenting thought of this in her head.

All these she had endured because she believed and consoled herself that once Cleaven rejects her, it will be over between them a things will be back the way it used to be. But now that the ritual has failed, she could not hide her pain and fury anymore.

Lena went ahead to Toby’s residence with two warriors and grabbed the snake by the hair and pulls her out to the courtyard of the old house.

She asked for a long whip and force her to lay face flat on the whipping bench while two ladies hold her down from escaping, she thrashed her with all her might as she receives without letting out a cry however she could see her pain in her face as it writhes.

She want her to open her lips and yell out but no matter how hard she flogged her, she didn’t open her lips once or make a sound of agony but her face only writhes and turn red from the thrashing.

Lena dropped the whip in angry frustration and kicked her off the bench, she move closer and begin to use her foot on her, kicking her hard all over until Naira rush to her when Maria was about to lose her life.

“Cleaven will kill us if we kill her” she told Lena dragging her back but she keep resisting and try to get out not yet satisfied.

Maria felt blood rushing from inside her to her mouth and after a struggle with her mouth and lips she managed to part a tiny hole and the blood fall slowly from it. She felt the great urge to cough and cry out but no matter how hard she wanted to, she could part her lips It seemed to have been sealed with really strong glue.

It must be the punishment the Red Wolf is melting on her because she has refused to accept to be it host. She was the fool to think it would be that easy to get rid of a spirit that has existed hundreds of years back, but as long as she do not accept it, then she will not end up like the rest of her family.

The pain she has taken was nothing compared to how bad her family had suffered just because of a wicked spirit like the Red Wolf who has imprisoned them for centuries to serve it.

In her agonized pain, she felt the presence of her supposed mate and try to raise her head up to find him, she could scent him closer and know that he was watching as his lover melt harsh beatings on her but he just let her without doing anything to stop it or rescue her.

Maria wished her body could disappear or she could separate her soul from it so she won’t have to feel the awful pain dealing wither body right now. She could not feel her limbs until the men who had dragged her out started to drag her with them on the floor making her legs scrape on the ground as they pull her.

She was dumped in front of a cage and was left there to die, soon, a fierce looking wolf appeared from inside the cage and Maria figured it was there to eat her up. Even if she wanted to escape and save herself, she can’t move a limb so she just lied there and wait for the death coming to her.

She tried to imagine her sister Janine’s happy face receiving her to the other side but it got distracted by the sticky wetness on her face, she open her eyes and to her surprise, the wolf was licking on her face with it tongue.

She never liked dogs and wished to push it away from her face but her limbs could not move so she helpless had it licking up her open wounds causing her more pain than ever.

Maria’s tears roll down like a floating river and she tried to fall sleep hoping it makes the pain go away, in few minutes, she find herself in another trance in a emptiness space.

The red wolf appear to her again but this time in the image of a elderly woman wearing fur, Maria has a feeling she has met the woman before but her memory seem blurry at the moment.

“Are you ready to accept the power of the Red wolf now?” she asked in a calm voice.

Maria almost let out a yes but she remembered Janine’s words again and the catastrophic incident that took the life of all her family

“No!” she said firmly shaking her head.

“I just open my Lips” she said with joy seeing her lips are now moving.

"You have to accept your fate little one, it's only then you will be able to get on revenge on those who hurt you" she told her ignoring her excitement.

Maria look the elderly woman over wondering if she could read her mind or feel her emotions.

At the rejection ritual, she had prayed for a moment to have the red wolf power erupted in her so she could set the Lena lady on fire. She could feel her own wrath about to explode her but she stopped herself just in time.

That must have attracted the attention of the red wolf to offer her the dreadful powers too but she isn't going to fall for it trick.

"I don't want to end up like the others before me, your gift only destructs us" she told her and it infuriates the Woman.

"The Red wolf protects you!" She yelled

She look at the woman not sure if she is the one who had made her to be able to talk again and wondered how to make her calm again and but before she could ask, her calm face turned into a terrifying monstrous one and soon turn her face turned to that of the red wolf

“You left me no choice then”

It said and charge for her with his cruel claws reaching for her throat, Maria put her hands up in defense of herself but the wolf soon disappeared into her again like before and she open her eyes with a loud yelp.

She look around her to see the dog was still around and the pain rushing back to her bones , she wasn't healed this time around.

This could mean that the wolf has finally agreed to let go of her but that also means she will have endure this excruciating pain for a long time because it isn't going to heal soon.

Maria try to lift her limbs again not sure if she should be happy that she is now free and wolfless, the dog came at her again and she tried to shoo it away but her lips was stuck together again.

She manage to move her fingers and touch her throat while a hot tear escaped down her cheek at the realization that she still hasn't regain her voice, looks like the Red wolf wasn't done punishing her.
