Aeliana My wrists were on fire. My ankles too. Someone needed to come put out the fire, before it consumed me entirely. Why were my eyes closed? I tried to open them, but my eyelids suddenly seemed unbelievably heavy. The burning sensation was becoming more concentrated as I was forced back into consciousness. Finally, I was able to squint and take in my surroundings a little. I was chained to a stone wall, with silver-lined cuffs, by the look of them. That explained the searing pain on my skin. The rest of the room was dark, save for moonlight creeping in from a small barred window. So far as I could tell, I was alone. I struggled to shrug off the residual grogginess. I must have been knocked out, but I wasn't sure if it was by physical, medicinal, or magical means. My head throbbed. T
