Chapter 18: Things Weren’t Perfect

1587 Words

Aeliana I was resting in my room, reading a novel. The rest of the household was enjoying a rare quiet evening in the drawing room, but I just didn't feel up to it. With only a couple of weeks to go until my eighteenth birthday, I was feeling unusually retrospective, which in turn caused me to feel blue. I couldn't believe my time was almost gone. Everything was about to come to an end. Or was it really just beginning? But there was nothing in the prophecy about how long after Derek and I were mated the last battle would begin. What if it was years? It was frustrating, knowing something huge but somehow not really knowing it at all.
