"Want to come down, Nice Girl?" I whispered in the dark, looking up at her. Goddess, why was I doing this? What could have possibly possessed me to do something so stupid, and quite frankly, dangerous?
She stared down at me with wide eyes. Oh, right. Her. Goddess, I must be out of my mind.
After looking at me silently for a full minute, she slowly and silently withdrew her head from the window and closed it.
I exhaled, disappointed. Really, she was saving me by not coming out. I was risking my and my mother's place in the pack just by standing here at this time of night, let alone trying to entice Aeliana outside in the middle of the night.
She doesn't belong to him, you know, Alexander reminded me. She's free to make her own choices.
