It took awhile, but I finally stumbled upon the omega children. It really was an accident that I found them at all. I had all but given up and decided to go to the pavilion near the meadow to get a drink from the water pump I knew was there. Lo and behold, there they were, taking shelter from the sweltering heat in the shade.
A couple of omegas were with them, but it looked like there were far more children than they should be handling by themselves. However, some of the older kids were helping to look after the younger ones, and overall everyone looked well behaved and respectful. Some little girls were in a circle playing some sort of clapping game with their hands, while some other kids were grouped around the water pump, scratching at the flat stones surrounding its base with
