THEA.
My eyes sprung wide, and I felt the panic again. But this time, I am in a different place room.
Where am I? I can’t seem to find Trey and Jorja.
"She should be awake now," a voice said from outside the room. “She should be hungry now.“
Then the door opened and two ladies walked in.
The lady with brown long hair and a bang at the front stood there with a bright smile on her face as she pulled the white curtain beside my bed open.
“I'm Doctor Fay, but you can call me Akira.”
I faked a smile without uttering any words to them. I just needed to know why I was here.
"Are you hungry?" Akira asked again.
"She must be hungry, Akira. Here, have some food.” The Second Lady said as she brought a plate of food for me. She attempted to soothe me, saying, "Akira is the best doctor in our pack. Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Kiara.”
“What’s your name?” Akira asked as she sat at the edge of the bed.
“T—Thea.” I stuttered, taking the food from Kiara.
“Such a nice name, Thea.” Kiara smiled as she sat close to Akira.
“Where am I?” I asked as I began to eat the food slowly.
“You’re at Moons pack. Our Alpha Clive bought you.” Kiara said.
Blood drained from my face and my body stiffened.
Sold?
“Bought me? But why?”
“This might sound weird but… he.. he.. you’re to become a surrogate mother and give birth to an heir for him.” Akira said.
All of a sudden, it all made sense to me now. I was sold by Tyler and his wife to this Alpha Clive of the Moons pack.
So I was a s*x toy now?
My body began to tremble. This was worse than the torture I faced at Trey’s house. I dropped the plate of food on the table beside the bed and rested my back on the bed.
“But why did he purchase me when he could’ve just get a surrogate from this pack?” I asked anxiously.
“Okay here’s the thing…,Alpha Clive was in love with Zeta and she was pregnant with his baby. And the whole pack was excited about the birth of the baby. However, it was later found out that the baby Zeta was carrying wasn’t Alpha Clive’s but for her secret lover and Zeta had been deceiving Alpha Clive just to become the Luna. Alpha Clive had to cut the engagement off and killed Zeta, her lover and her family. He hated the women in this pack after the betrayal because he believed all women in this pack was the same and was going to betray him. That was why he had bought you from another pack. He wanted a different person that he never knows before to become the surrogate mother and carry the heir.” Akira said.
Before I can say anything, I heard footsteps coming.
A tall, shadowy creature walked into my the room. He was a huge man with jet-black hair and tanned complexion. He had a strong jawline that emphasized his masculinity. I had never seen a man move so elegantly, yet behind his beautiful eyes was a ruthless glare. Even though he was across the room, I was frightened by the power he seemed to possess, which was evident in the aura that seemed to surround him.
“Akira, can you please come for a minute.” The man said.
Akira stood up and walked towards him in the door. “Of course, Beta.”
As they went out, Kiara said to me. “That’s my brother Nirvana and he’s the Beta of this pack.”
NIRVANA.
As I entered the room, I heard Akira’s voice talking to Alpha Clive’s surrogate. She was a tender girl, and I was certain she made Akira’s heart melt.
“Akira, please come for a minute.” I called Akira.
Akira followed me outside. She had been compliant with everything that was asked of her.
"Nirvana you called.” Akira looked at me questioningly as she lowered her voice.
"How is she doing?" I asked.
"Well, she's doing a lot better. Although she still has a long way to go, she is making strides.” Akira said.
"That's excellent. She appears to be eating. Can she be moved to her room soon?"
Akira took a while to respond, which gave me a sense of unease.
"Akira, what's going on?"
She paused for a second. I knew her too well to understand her thoughts. She went on to say, "I know that the Alpha wants to breed with Thea as soon as possible, but it isn't time yet."
Akira gave me a direct glance.
“In a few days, Thea should be well enough to move into her own room. But personally, I don't feel at ease with it."
My eyebrows went up.
"Thea is still recovering, and now that she's here, I can easily make sure she's eating and drinking enough water. It will become more complicated if she becomes pregnant too quickly. Her body is weak, and she still needs enough rest and good food.”
“Clive stated five days, and he will expect that."
“She is currently unable to conceive in a safe manner. She is really too frail. Please understand that she needs enough rest.”
“Sincerely, I'm not sure if she'll be prepared by the Alpha's due date. If she loses his child, do you truly want to witness his anger?”
“That isn't for you to decide, Akira." I scowled and responded. There was no compromise on what had to be done because this was one of the Alpha's top priorities.
Thea caught my attention; she wasn't your typical girl. She exuded an inherent beauty that mirrored her kind disposition. She had soft green eyes and brown hair that fell in waves over her shoulders. She was a lovely lady. She would be treated like a princess, as would most attractive women with Alpha blood. she still caught everyone's attention with ease.
I can see that Akira and my sister Kiara liked Thea.
Thea might have seemed a little different to them than any she-wolves the Alpha had ever dealt with.
However, neither of them was aware of the Alpha's strategy for Thea.
Akira let out a sigh. "I know."
"I need her transferred to her room right now. It's an order.”
"Yes, Beta, I understand." Akira said.
Although I could understand her hesitancy, Akira never once failed to complete the task at hand.
"What room should I have her prepare to go to?"
"The room next to Alpha. He wants to be as near to her as he can.”
Akira was taken aback. However, when I found out about it, I was also. over many generations, only one female was allowed to use that room.. his Luna.
I knew Clive well enough to know that room would likely never be occupied. Only because it was easier for him to finish his breeding duty did he place Thea there. That was it.
Akira started to respond, "...But."
But I shot Akira a glance to cut her off. "Akira, I understand. It doesn't matter where she's staying. Additionally, going forward, I will be the source of all information about her. I must be informed when every aspect of her health is revealed.”
Akira didn't question me, although she seemed a little surprised. "Yes, Beta. In three days, the last set of tests will be done, at which point she can relocate if necessary. Only safety measures must be taken.”
"All right. Please update me on the fresh test findings.”
Akira followed me back to the room Thea and Kiara was in.
“Hey, Miss Thea.” I greeted her.
Thea smiled warmly and said, "Beta Nirvana."
"Miss Thea, just Nirvana, please."
Although Thea was still feeble, she had more energy than before. Her pallid face even had a healthy glow about it. Her neck was bruised. She resembled a delicate and exquisite china doll that needed to be handled carefully.
"So... am I moving soon?"
She would have heard what we were discussing because she is a wolf. After all, she had a werewolf hearing. I had no particular intention of keeping our recent talk a secret from her. She would have to find out sooner or later.
"Yes. Your room will be prepared.”
"Oh.. okay."
As Thea glanced down at her lap, it was the only answer she offered. She was exhibiting every sign of anxiousness, including self-induced panic.
Akira was correct; Thea still lacked the mental capacity to be a surrogate mother.
"Everything will work out. Akira will also be there for you, and I will still come see you. You will also adore the beds that are available there. It is comparable to lying on clouds.” Akira said.
"I swear to you, Thea. I'll help look after you. You can rely on me.” Akira said.
I gave Akira a disapproving glance. Perhaps she was aware of it, but she chose to disregard it. It isn't helping her, so she shouldn't be telling Thea this. That was all there was to it; we had a plan.
But when I looked at Thea, a tiny voice inside of me tried to persuade me that she wasn't deserving of this.
"I don't want to be his surrogate mother."
Just loud enough for me to hear, Thea whispered.
With a sigh, Akira said, "I know you don't."
Kiara couldn't resist giving Thea a hug as I watched the tears fall down her cheeks. Thea was tense and winced at Kiara’s touch, but she eventually gave in and let herself cry in Kiara’s arms.
The world wasn't always fair. What would happen to her claim? Perhaps an innocent girl like her didn't deserve what happened to her.
I scowled and waved aside the uneasiness that began to rise within me. So what? The world wasn't fair to Clive either. What is to be done must be done. This notion caused my heart to harden once again.
Clive’s command must be carried out. Time was not on our side.
Clive wasn't just my Alpha. He was my best friend, and the position of Beta was given to me with trust. However, no matter how close we were, I was first his subordinate, then his friend. Either way, he had my absolute loyalty.
