Betty snatched the bag from the attendant and held it up like a trophy, staring at it with exaggerated interest.
“I can’t believe I finally got to hold it.” she cooed, swiftly returning her attention to the attendant while pretending not to see us.
“Why didn’t you tell me you restocked? You know I’ve been on your case for this very purse. Pack it up for me.”
“This is a different bag, Ma’am.”The attendant smiled awkwardly, stretching out her hands to retrieve the bag from Betty.
“Are you indirectly calling me stupid?”
“No, Ma’am. I wouldn’t dare.”
“Exactly. Now, shut your stupid mouth and do as I instructed,” she snarled.
The attendant shuddered at the sound of Betty’s piercing voice. “Okay Ma’am.”
