Gretchen slept after her appointment in radiology, and Drew left her snoozing to go get the kids. Jess pulled open the door and climbed into the cab of Drew’s truck first, saying, “Hey, Drew,” like they were old friends. “Hey, there.” He grinned at the easy-going nature of the boy.
