“Shinbe?” Kyoko asked feeling a tingle shoot through her at the mention of the name. “How do you know it’s the same person?”
“I don’t and unfortunately none of my family knows either. It’s just something we’ll never have the answer to I suppose.” Tasuki glanced back to the staff and the amethyst stone that rested at one end… he knew but just couldn’t prove it.
“Well,” Kyoko whispered. “I mean… wow!”
Tasuki nodded, “That was my reaction too. Since you left, I’ve been honing my natural ability without the use of the staff and found I can cast barriers on my own. I’m still learning to control it but I haven’t had a chance to test it in a fight. I can however use it to keep out the… undesirables?”
Kyoko arched an eyebrow, “And who would you consider undesirable?”
