Aleida wasn't a runner. She wouldn't admit it, but she was cheating, just a little. 'Where are you?!' Conley growled into her mind. 'Can't you see me?' Aleida couldn't help but tease him. She knew he wouldn't hurt her. Conley's response was a low growl in the back of his throat and a push forward in speed. Aleida heard the fourth sentry tell Conley about the new vampires, and nerves trickled into her consciousness. She had no idea how the new vampires would react to her being their Luna - a young vampire none of them knew. It would be her first challenge. 'Where are you?' Conley growled. He'd skidded to a stop with his paws digging into the soil, looking around impatiently. 'Right here!' Aleida spoke into his ear, giggling as he whirled around in confusion, and taking the opportunity to disentangle herself from his fur and materialize in the space he'd been looking before. Conley was turning in a slow circle, his ears pricked forward, listening intently. 'Conley.' Aleida called softly, leaning against a tree. Conley turned and gazed at her with intense eyes. 'How the actual f**k did you do that? You're not even out of breath?!' Indeed, Aleida was breathing normally while Conley was puffing lightly with his tongue out. 'A lady cannot reveal all her secrets.' Aleida winked. Conley growled softly as he stretched his neck and began changing back to human. Aleida couldn't help but wince as his body methodically crackled, popped and buzzed back into place. The symphony of his body transforming was not one Aleida would look forward to in the future. A naked Conley was bending to collect his clothes in front of her. Aleida sent him images of smacking his ass just hard enough for him to fall, and he turned slowly with an eyebrow raised. 'I do believe that's my job.' he rumbled, taking his time getting dressed. Aleida did her best not to show him how much that excited her. Conley smirked and stepped closer to her after he'd buttoned his pants, teeth grazing her ear as he whispered, 'You can't hide it from me, I can smell you from here.' Aleida blushed and turned her head away, which Conley thought was funny enough to warrant throwing his head back in laughter. 'Come along, little one, let's meet the new arrivals.' he finished getting dressed and gently grabbed her hand. 'Do you usually walk around without shoes?' Aleida asked. 'Me? Yeah. Oddly enough, my feet are unnaturally wide, so finding shoes that don't hurt is a bitch.' Conley winked at her. Aleida nodded sagely, but thought to herself that Conley's feet weren't that wide. As they made their way around the pack house, the smell of the new vampires floated over to Aleida. One smell, in particular, stood out to her ... a mix of sage and something delectable ... 'The f**k?' Conley growled, but he, too, was sniffing the air. They locked eyes, and Aleida felt Conley smelling the same sage smell in the air. 'But I thought you were ...' Aleida trailed off. 'You're my Luna ...' Conley looked, for what Aleida could only assume for the first time in his life, lost. Aleida moved forward and kissed Conley's lips softly. Time melted away and they were devouring each other, almost falling to the ground in their need for each other. Conley growled and pulled away, holding Aleida's chin with two of his fingers. They gazed into each other's eyes, panting softly. 'Glad that's settled. Let's follow that scent.' Conley lovingly took Aleida's hand, and together they made their way to the pack house. ** '... our Alpha and Luna, who you will hopefully get to meet soon.' Beta finished talking to the newest vampires with a silent prayer for his Alpha to not be tired up too much longer with their new Luna. Beta liked being the beta, and acting as Alpha when Conley was ... otherwise occupied ... was getting old, fast. 'Mate...' The Alpha growled, loudly enough for half the pack to hear. Beta rolled his eyes. It may as well have been the only word the Alpha had spoken to anyone since he got home. 'Mate ...' And now the Luna was joining in. Terrific. Beta made a motion to the vampires to follow him. Maybe some distance from the Alpha and Luna would help. He'd barely led the vampires two steps when the front doors burst open with a resounding bang, and the Alpha and Luna half ran, half stumbled, through. 'Alpha. Luna.' Beta raised a hand in welcome, but it went unnoticed. Conley and Aleida's eyes had similar glazed expressions, and they appeared to be stalking something. Beta felt his hackles begin to rise in preparation, immediately planning on how to protect the newest members of the pack. Conley and Aleida growled simultaneously, and made a synchronized leap toward one of the vampires. 'Mate.' Their call rumbled through everyone in the room, leaving everyone rooted to the spot in confusion.
