“I completed my task this week,” I speak up. “Excellent. Come forward.” I move closer and open a small, clear container. Inside is an inky black feather that emanates darkness, which once lived in my father’s office. My task was to steal it, though I’m not sure what it does. Uriel told me it was one of Lucifer’s feathers, and I can’t imagine why the Order would want it. I hold it out to the leader, who takes it carefully at the end and holds it up to the light.
