I had felt it happen before I saw it. Trisha’s weight on me suddenly increasing, only to then vanish from me. But my eyes refused to open immediately as my body had expended too much energy. Eon was in a sedated state, unmovable in my mind. My limbs felt heavy as I sat up, finally opening my eyes.
But by then it was too late. Panic entered my heart as I realized innumerable Tainted surrounded me, and I saw Trisha’s limp, naked form being carried away by a figure cloaked in black.
No! Trisha! My love, my mate! I felt the searing pain in my chest as my mate was separated from me, drawing further and further away. Fury raged through me. Who dared touch my mate!? Why now!? I tried to stand up, but my strength had left me.
