Leaking Issue Pt. 1

4600 Words
Kingsley reveled in flying in the sky. My mate was on my back. Kayda jumped in, “My back.” I snorted, “OUR back.” She screeched, “He isn’t scared of me, Kingsley!” It scared her more than she wanted to admit and I understood that. It had been my fear as well. We went higher than we ever had. Kayda told me, “We have to get something marvelous for our pet because we’d already have to go back down to the ground if our wing muscles weren’t used to flying. I’m not ready for that so I’d probably push through. If I fell, we'd never forgive whoever took our memories because I would remind you WE FELL WITH OUR MATE ON OUR BACK.” I snorted, “Duly noted.” She said, “No really, I’d get them all. Logically the only ones I cannot roast are our older brother and father. The rest would be roastables to me for that alone. I’m debating it as it is since they hurt you.” We’d leave it unsaid they hurt her as well, but that was for another day. We saw the entire capitol. Kayda screeched, “HE SAID IT WAS OURS!” I chuckled, “Yes, ours to rule not roast.” She muttered, “I’m going to get a roasting chair.” Lord. She was showing off for Hastein and I definitely wasn’t going to stop her. She screeched, “THE TREES REGROW WHEN I ROAST THEM! LONG LIVE THE NON ROASTABLE NEW FAMILY MEMBERS WE HAVE THROUGH OUR MATE!” I agreed wholeheartedly about that sentiment. When we landed Kayda said, “I’ll admit once I am actually tired but we must do something marvelous for our pet. He has to be impressed that we were up there for hours. Right? Do you think he’s impressed?” Then he praised her and it felt like a balm to my very soul. She said, “I’m shifting back before he makes me leak from my eyes again. Only pet ever praised us.” I replied, “She’s the only one who knows what we are.” She screeched, “Don’t you say logical things to me right now. He called me beautiful and said he was proud of me. Proud, Kingsley. Take back over. This leaking issue persists.” I snorted and we shifted back. The need to be with Hastein was overwhelming. Kayda said, “I’ll come back and make you forever regret having me leak in front of him if you don’t jump on his d**k. Forget Missouri. No, f**k Missouri and everyone there. I NEED s*x!” I retorted, “You just want to stop crying.” She screeched, “IT IS NOT CRYING! IT IS LEAKING!” Whatever. We had time so I tackled him. Then it was on. The man found another feather. Kayda moaned, “I think it’s the sight seeing non-roastable child we are now related to. I love her and we should have a CHAT with that one. She has answers.” More than I did anyway. I took us to the cave I’d spotted while flying. I liked all of them, but this one just felt perfect. Kayda cooed, “This will be our nest unless we discover a better one.” Ok then. I asked, “Is our nesting time soon?” She retorted, “How would I know? I know nothing. I just know this is the perfect place that I know about so far.” There was nothing I could really say to that. When he called us his Dragon Kayda pushed through and had her fun. I shouted at her, “You did NOT just tell him you wanted to spend ALL YOUR TIME SUCKING HIS d**k!” She retorted, “I did tell him that because I do.” Someone, or a god or goddess, give me strength to deal with this Dragon. Then she asked about her chair. I groaned, “KAYDA!” He agreed. I faltered, he what?! Kayda screeched, “HE SAID YES!” I replied, “I noticed you only asked about the chair. Are you satisfied now and you don’t need a cave?” She scoffed, “You can’t ask for everything all at one time. You have to space out your perfectly reasonable requests.” I grumbled, “There is NOTHING reasonable about having a ROASTING CHAIR AND CAVE!” She sang, “But he said I could have the chair.” God. Kayda shouted, “I GET TO EAT EVERYONE THEY BLOOD EAGLE?! Tell me that’s often! NO! I’ll ask Freya.” I waited before she screeched happily which told me that meant it wasn’t a one off occurrence. She said, “I GET TO EAT SO MANY PEOPLE KINGSLEY! SO MANY! Plus, pet said there are a lot of people here and our human side of our pet has plans for more. FYI, they aren’t aware of all the people she plans to put in their dungeons.” That was the least surprising thing she’d said to me in hours. I shoved all that aside and lost myself in Hastein. Kayda said, “Ok, these Fairies are the best non-roastables. This is a s*x cave. LITERALLY.” She screeched when an outfit was magicked onto us. I picked up the note. Kingsley, I had my mom coordinate this area with sexy things and outfits. Based on what I saw, you love it. Have fun! I AM SO EXCITED! Welcome to the family. We love you already! Angela She cheered, “LONG LIVE THE NON-ROASTABLES! Honestly, I’m back to saying that I’m a normal Dragon and you were just hanging out with the Roastables. So really, when you think about it, it’s your fault I was all roast and burn them all.” I scoffed, “Unlikely.” She hummed, “This cave speaks to the contrary.” I replied, “Or you like all members related to our mate.” She replied, “Freya said I might not like one.” I groaned, “f**k! We need to look into that then.” She said, “Well, from the rundown I got he might just be traumatized and possibly stupid.” I huffed, “Don’t say that.” She replied, “What? It’s better than being a roastable. Trauma can make people do stupid things. Our pet is brilliant but she did stupid things because of trauma.” Fine. She could have her reasoning as long as no one was getting roasted related to our mate. Kayda warned, “I will roast ANYONE who is a threat to him. Be that physical or emotional.” I conceded, “I’m actually fine with that.” She cooed, “Good. Because I wasn’t asking.” I groaned, “UGH!” She cackled in my head. I knew how to distract her. I went dominatrix mode. She cooed, “YES! I bet he’d be interested to know Melanie studied the dynamics of dominatrix and the fact that all Supernatural men have a kink for it. Even Alpha males.” Melanie had been fascinated by that fact. I replied, “I think we should find a way to tell her Xander because she researched her it because of him.” She’d wanted to know what he could possibly be into. Kayda cackled, “Imagine our pet as a dominatrix.” I reasoned, “She runs the resistance. She definitely could do it, it would just be more rambling than any other dominatrix ever.” Kayda cackled in my head. We ended up back in the capital screaming for the whole realm to hear. Kayda said, “I could screech and they’d all hear us for sure.” I snorted, “Let’s not tell the WHOLE realm what we are.” She snorted, “As if they would. We’ve screeched in front of his friends and he was shocked when means, despite his mini Dragon version of me, our mate hadn’t guessed what we are.” To be fair, I was certain the Fairy’s and Melanie would’ve been the only people to accurately guess that. Kayda announced, “He’s going to ride us more, Kingsley! He said we would land on the stage with him on our back.” I moaned, “I heard him. Will you let me focus?” She scoffed, “Multitask. You’re missing people we know who are here.” I didn’t care. It was probably Melanie. She taunted, “Wrong.” I retorted, “I. Do. Not. Care.” She cackled and left me alone. Then I heard him. Kayda laughed. I shouted back to her, “LUCA IS HERE!” She replied, “Not just him.” I scoffed, “You only know before you SMELLED them. Which means I did too, in a way. You could’ve just said Luca and Robyn are here.” She was smug and content in my head. I was so happy to see them happy and mated. We all shared a look because this meant a great deal to us. We’d watched everyone get mated up and be blissed out happy. Now, it was finally our turn and we were together. Kayda said, “I sense the direction of your thoughts and I approve. Luca will be an excellent Falconer and Robyn is who I trust to be our secretary.” She shivered, “Imagine one we didn’t know handling such things. I might’ve had to roast people.” I rolled my eyes knowing the Hackura were quite capable but not having to argue with my Dragon during the interview process about who she could roast or not did make me feel better. Kayda chuckled, “It could’ve been the first person I put in my roasting chair.” I pointed out, “You don’t have it yet.” She scoffed, “There are dungeons here they could wait in.” Oh my god. I did not have the patience for this Dragon. Kayda cackled, “I love our pet. We are about to know more about their history than they do. Which is fair SINCE WE DO NOT KNOW OURS.” I replied, “Go back to orgasm happiness and getting your roasting chair happy.” She agreed, “You’re right. I do get my chair and nothing can take that from me.” Thank god I knew how to make her happy now. I loved how Luca’s eye lit up when he realized he was looking out for gossip. It’s what he did in the Clouder and it wasn’t an official role. He just loved it. Kayda chuckled, “They seem surprised our pet is in Titus’ files.” Yeah, well they should know she was in all of their files, not just Titus’. Cayden should know at this point she was all over his. Kayda screeched, “HIS SECRETARY!” We turned and studied her. Kayda scoffed, “She is NOT a Dragon. She doesn’t shift at all.” I replied, “We knew that.” She screeched, “NO ONE BETTER CALL HER HIS DRAGON! WE ARE HIS DRAGON!” I greeted his Guard and that calmed her down. She cooed, “He does protect mate. Him, I like.” At least she could be reasonable. We talked and I didn’t hate her. Kayda said, “Well, I don’t like her.” I replied, “But you don’t want to roast her. I don’t even feel the fire in my throat.” She scoffed, “I can’t talk to you when you’re being reasonable and shit.” I snorted, “So, you never want to talk to me.” She sighed, “It’s such a hardship sometimes. The world would be a better place without the roastables.” I retorted, “But you don’t want to roast Jocelyn.” She snarked, “Then no one had better call her MATE’S DRAGON EVER AGAIN!” She practically breathed fire in my head. I had to admit I didn’t care for anyone calling her his Dragon either. Kayda shouted, “HA! VINDICATION!” I rolled my eyes at her mentally. Lincoln was so excited about his role and I knew Robyn was ready to get to work when she cracked her neck and winked at Jocelyn. Kayda chimed back in, “Yes, Jocelyn. The non-Dragon. THAT NO ONE CAN CALL A DRAGON BECAUSE I CAN ROAST THEM ALL!” Jesus Christ. Hastein took us back to my place. Kayda huffed, “Just blow off the Vampires and their squabbles. Taste more steak d**k. I’m convinced I could never be hungry again with a constant diet of his sperm.” I shot back, “Then you couldn’t get pregnant with his hatchlings.” She scoffed, “Please, we’d just alternate between oral and penetrating s*x. Sometimes, you’re not creative enough.” I replied, “He has things to do.” She shot back, “That he can do WHILST I suck on his dick.” I wasn’t going to argue with her about this. She was clearly dead set on being unreasonable. He brought up Thanksgiving and I shut it down. Because I wasn’t going there. Sadly, my brain didn’t get the memo. All the times I walked by the windows or walked around the happy families celebrating together. Even the family drama Angelique loved so much made my heat ping with sadness. God, I missed her. Maybe I could go see her soon. He was getting ready to leave and it felt like the floor was going to fall through. What was wrong with me? Was I getting ready to nest? Kayda answered, “No, but our bond is new. Pet has a lot of notes on how Supernaturals with a fresh bond need to be close to each other. So, give up the Vampires and their trivial issues.” I snorted, “We need to get to the bottom of who can compel people.” She groaned, “No, WE do not. That sounds like a problem for OTHER people.” God, I needed to check in with Stella too. Kayda huffed, “Stella is beyond capable and we go periods of time without checking in. Just suck on the steak d**k and be happy.” I shoved all that aside and got ready to leave. I left knowing he’d be there when I got back. I picked a different car and drove to the office. Josey greeted, “Gosh, you are just rolling in cars. You were totally made to be a Vampire’s assistant.” Kayda scoffed, “We are a Queen, not an assistant. Vampires should serve us.” Great, now everyone should serve us. Troy had a note about a delivery to the throne room. I quickly put my stuff down, turned on the privacy locks and engaged the soundproofing. I asked, “ILYX, what family member isn’t with the Cambridges?” He answered, “There are several. Which do you need to know about?” I replied, “All of them.” He said, “I will compile those files for you.” I asked, “Can I change your voice to H’s?” He answered, “No.” Ugh. I asked, “Who is the Cambridge that left?” He answered, “Duke Benjamin Cambridge. A.k.a Benny. His namesake is Prince Benjamin Cambridge.” I snorted, “I figured that out.” I asked, “Why did he leave?” He asked, “Officially?” I answered, “Officially and unofficially.” He said, “Officially, he needed time after the slaughter of his parents and their family line. He was the sole survivor.” Kayda said, “Ok, so trauma. He’s not a roastable.” I asked, “And unofficially?” ILYX said, “He’s on a mission to figure out who killed his family line. The cover up is Duke Jeremiah Cambridge, a partial Hackura/Human, killed them all.” I asked, “Isn’t that the worst cover up of all time? It’s clearly a lie.” ILYX agreed, “Lovebug did run probabilities and returned a -3.2% believability. The Hackura know it’s a lie. It’s why three of the Royal line are hiding their human mates. Lovebug feels quite bad for them, but Benny is stonewalling her methods to speed things up. She believes he does not know some of his cousins have human mates and have them hidden.” I rubbed my face. I asked, “Why is Melanie letting her stonewall her?” Kayda scoffed, “Please, you know the answer is her Xander.” ILYX answered, “Lovebug doesn’t want to upset Duke Benny or the Royal family. She believes Paige is imperative to the process. She’s given Paige some hints and Paige ran with them. She’s working on it unofficially.” Well, I could tell Paige myself. I asked, “Is Valdoma involved?” ILYX answered, “Yes.” I sighed, “Is Hastein in danger?” ILYX said, “Lovebug would never let anything happen to Hastein. If she thought there was an immediate danger then Benny’s stonewalling would not matter.” I asked, “Then why isn’t he home?” He said, “He has a half human brother, JJ.” I surmised, “Jeremiah Junior.” He answered, “Yes. Duke Jeremiah was unaware his high school sweetheart was pregnant prior to his death. Lovebug believes based on Benny’s files he would’ve taken her as his chosen mate.” So, this was f****d up. ILYX continued, “Duke Benny is worried about the Hackura realm’s reaction to JJ given the lie that was told about his father and causing the deaths of Prince Magnus’ line. Plus, the Duke is determined to avenge his family as the sole survivor. Lovebug understands his drive and need for that.” She would. She thought she and Jason were the only living members of their core family. I thought about what to do with all that. I disengaged everything and got up to make my delivery. I told Josey, “I’ll be back.” Harriah scoffed, “Skipping out. I’m reporting that.” I punched her hard. Kayda screeched, “LET ME ROAST HER!” I felt the fire in my throat. I didn’t even look at Harriah. I said, “Troy has me dropping this off. I’ll be back.” She nodded, “Sure.” I stormed out to my car. I gritted, “Kayda, don't let her get to us.” She screeched, “I AM A QUEEN AND SHE IS A ROASTABLE PEON! DO NOT LET HER SPEAK TO US THAT WAY!” Lord. I drove to the Vampire mansion and took out the package I was delivering. Chariah greeted, “Karlee, I was expecting you. Come on in.” We walked in and I got several looks. Some were grateful others had Kayda screeching in anger. I left the package where Troy instructed. I turned and my gaze caught on the sword above the mantle. I took an involuntary step towards it, but Chariah guided me out of the room. She said, “Yeah, it’s totally useless.” Kayda screeched, “NO IT IS NOT!” I asked, “How do you know?” She calmed down then admitted, “I have no idea, but I know that it’s not useless. It’s…” She trailed off. I asked, “It’s what?” She answered, “Important.” Ok. I asked, “What’s the story?” She answered, “The King here spent millions to get it, but it burns anyone who touches it.” Kayda said, “We could easily touch it. Fire cannot hurt us.” Was that a Dragon sword in the human realm? Kayda gasped, “That’s it! Maybe that’s from back home. Take it!” I replied, “We need a plan to do that. We can’t just take it.” She huffed, “We are a QUEEN! Act like it. We can take things from the peon roastables if we wish.” She was going to be as subtle as two by four to the head knowing we were mating to the future King. John scoffed, “You should touch it and get burned, like you deserve.” Chariah gasped, “John!” Kayda screeched, “I WANT HIM IN MY ROASTING CHAIR!” He wasn’t a bad candidate. I winked, “You should be careful what you wish for, you might just be the one getting burned.” Kayda said, “I do like that line, but ROAST HIM!” I tossed a lighter between my hands casually. He quickly ran away. Chariah winked at me. I left and went back to work. Kayda lamented, “Harriah and John must be roasted. I do not do this petty bullshit.” I replied, “I believe it’s called mean girls. It’s very high school.” Kayda scoffed, “I do not remember high school, but I know I roasted any mean girls.” I actually believed that. I kept reminding her that Hastein was waiting. When we got home I literally ran into his arms. He asked, “Bad night?” I snorted, “I f*****g hate all the catty ass bitches. Plus, I think there might be a sword there that’s from back home.” Kayda said, “It totally is.” He asked, “Why do you think that?” I admitted, “Because everyone said I’d get burned if I touched it. Fire can’t hurt me though.” He said, “I can look into it.” I kissed him slowly then said, “Thank you.” He chuckled, “I think you need some sleep.” He wrapped his arms around me and I fell asleep. I woke up in a mist. I asked, “Is this a cloud?” I gasped when I saw Dragons flying by me. I pointed, “Kayda, that’s us!” She hummed, “So I see.” We were flying with other dragons and floating along on a cloud. I shifted back and realized I was much younger. I gasped when I saw the man and woman who were clearly my parents. My brother and sister shifted back too. I whispered, “Is this our whole family?” My dad laughed, “That’s a good flight, little Kingsley.” The young me boasted, “Kayda and I may be the youngest Dragon shifter because we were in danger, but we are determined to be the best flier in our class. Even if they are older.” I shifted because I was in danger? The little me turned away while everyone else shot each other looks. I accused them, “It’s not why I shifted, is it?” Kayda replied, “They can’t answer.” I knew that. A guy ran up, “You looked great, Kingsley!” She squealed and launched herself into his arms, “CHANCE!” She turned, “Daddy, can Chance and I go play?” Another girl came up. She had multiple tones to her hair color. She said, “With me!” I noted my brother took a step to her and she smiled at her. Young me screamed, “KENNA!” I jolted, “Kenna?” That’s why hearing Hastein’s great-grandma’s name gave me a jolt. I knew someone named Kenna. My mom snorted, “I’m standing right here, but it’s always your dad with you.” My dad laughed, “You got the other two. This hatchling is always about daddy.” I watched little me throw herself into his arms and began to cry. I shouted, “Why did you let me go then?” Another man faded in. He announced, “I will go with the Princess and her friends.” The young me squealed, “EMBER!” She hugged him and he laughed. He said, “I was flying up there with you, little Princess.” Chance muttered, “Of course you were. You’re her Guard.” I whispered, “Are you ok then Ember? Are you out here with me now?” Kayda answered, “No. I would’ve sensed him.” I cried, “Did he die?” She said, “He might just be waiting for us to come home.” Why? I looked around and cried, “They loved us. Did we make them mad?” Kayda screeched, “No!” Chance grabbed little me’s hand and went off with Kenna and everything faded. Hastein desperately yelled, “KINGSLEY!” I jolted up and he wrapped his arms around me. I cried, “I had friends. I was a daddy’s girl and they lied to me.” He stiffened, “What do you mean?” I whispered, “They told me I shifted early because I was in danger, but they all shared this look that told me it was a lie. The little me didn’t see it. My friend’s name….” I trailed off. He gently petted my hair. I whispered, “Her name is, or was Kenna.” He consoled me, “I’m sure she’s ok.” I asked, “How do you know I was worried she’s dead?” Kayda said, “She probably wrote the note.” Her or Chance. Kayda scoffed, “Please, we’ve always known the writer was female. It was her.” Probably. Hastein said, “Our bond is nothing like the Hackura one I share with my family, but I can pick up deeper meanings because I’ve had a bond my entire life. I’m sure they are all ok.” I cried, “Then why did they send me here alone? I had a Guard, but Kayda said she would’ve sensed him.” He said, “Well, I’m glad you know you had a guard in the past. It makes it handy for me to tell you that you have a Hackura Guard as well. There’s just more than one of them.” I admitted, “I don’t know if I had more than one, but I know the Future Queen has four guards.” He winked, “That you do.” I grinned, “I also know you picked them out and I bet I could find out who they are.” He raised an eyebrow, “And how would you do that?” I held up my watch. I said, “This holds all the secrets. For example, Benny.” He jolted and I felt his shock. He said, “The system Melanie has includes Benny? I thought she would’ve kept him off it.” I laughed, “No, no. Said system is compiling information about it for me.” He winced, “We can’t have that getting to people that shouldn't have it.” Of course they couldn't. It was a cover it. Kayda said, “Ummm.” I asked, “What?” She hummed, “I’m getting a bad vibe. I need to communicate with Freya.” Ok? I assured him, “Melanie wouldn’t let just anyone access it. I’d bet three people, one being her can.” He snorted, “You, Alexander, and Melanie?” I nodded. He said, “As long as you’re sure.” I laughed, “Beyond sure.” I pulled him close, “Make me forget, H. It hurts they left me out here and I can’t feel that right now.” Not so close to the holidays where everything inside me ached.
