Can't Help Myself Pt. 3

1533 Words
I asked, “Are you thinking about kids already?” She answered, “Yes. I know that when my mating season hits I’ll want to make a nest. I’ll wait if you want to, but I feel like I’ve been waiting a long time for this. I want everything with you.” I slammed my lips on hers. I whispered, “I hope our kids have your eyes.” She laughed but I was serious. She trailed her fingers up my chest, “You won’t distract me from the name.” I felt her shorts hook on the top of my shorts. I licked up my neck, “You can find out how long I can hold my breath underwater if you answer me.” f*****g hell. I backed us up against the edge of the pool. I answered, “The Dragon’s name is K.” She jolted, “Its name is what? You’re f*****g with me.” I answered, “No, that’s its name. My brother just decided I needed it and I knew he was right. Flashback Hastein was walking with his brother. Hugo was talking a mile a minute. My grandparents, that humans would call my great grandparents, were smirking listening to it. Grandma Kenna winked at me while Grandpa Rob rubbed Hugo’s back encouraging him. Hugo really got into telling stories. I was somewhat convinced he’d be an author one day. I enjoyed listening and I was used to it. It worked because he talked more than I did so no one commented on the fact I was quiet. It annoyed me when they did that. I spoke when I had something important to say. Hugo liked to share his every thought and I was fine with that. I just didn’t like to practice that myself. People were obnoxious about it. Hugo huffed, “Daddy really needs to hear the rest of the story.” I grinned at him. Grandpa Rob called, “My great grandson claims you must hear this story, Bjourn.” My dad jogged and caught up to us. I waved to my Grandma Veronica and Grandpa Titus. They were with my Aunt’s that the human realm would call my great Aunt’s. I wondered what trouble Aunt Vivienne was getting into. I felt Hastein’s jolt in the bond and glanced back. There was a tent with animals galore. He was staring at a stuffed purple dragon. I watched, waiting for him to move on, but he was transfixed. That was odd. He’d never liked stuffed animals. If anyone gave one to him he passed it onto his cousins or Hugo. We passed the setup for toys. Hugo squealed, “Let’s go in.” Naturally. We walked in and I saw it. A purple stuffed Dragon that made everything else in the world fade to me. I had never liked stuffed animals. I liked building things with my hands and never liked things like this, but I wanted this more than I wanted to admit. The bond told me Hugo had caught onto me. I needed to move before he told everyone, but my feet wouldn’t listen. I wanted that Dragon. Hugo, my parents, and grandparents were now here. God damn it, move! My feet refused though. Hugo yanked on my dad’s sleeve. “Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy.” Dad laughed, “Buddy, I’m right here.” He pointed, “H needs that.” f**k. My dad reasoned with him, “H doesn’t like stuffed animals.” Hugo pointed, “No, he NEEDS it!” He was near a tantrum level based on the bond. He sent me his feelings that I needed it, but it wasn’t necessary I wanted that Dragon. Dad sighed, “Son…” Hugo cut him off, “DAAADDDDDDDDDDDD! He NEEDS IT!” My mom jumped in, “Hugo, why don’t you ask H if he wants it?” Hugo stomped his foot and sent me a warning in the bond that nearly had me laughing. He declared, “H, you need it.” My dad reached for a black one. Hugo’s anger lanced the bond. He yelled. “NO! THE PURPLE ONE!” My dad teased, “One might think you want the purple one, Hugo.” He was going to lose his mind. I picked up the purple Dragon off the wall. Sending my brother all my thankfulness. I wanted this Dragon. Hell, I might need it and his blow up was giving me a solid reason to do it. I couldn't rationalize to myself why I needed it, I just did. I assured my brother, “I’ll get it, Hugo. I have an allowance.” Hugo instantly calmed down and smiled brightly. He said, “Good. You need it.” Mom asked, “Why?” He shrugged, “He just does.” I was positive he felt that way because I wanted it so bad and he was fully tapped into our bond. Dad quickly said, “H, you don’t have to get it.” I shrugged, “I want it.” So, unless my dad beat me to the cash register I was going to buy it myself. Hugo stuck his tongue out. Mom warned him, “We don’t talk to daddy like you just did and we don’t stick out our tongue.” He looked down, “Sorry, daddy. But H does need it.” She laughed, “We don’t use the word but in our apologies.” He scrunched up his face but nodded. My dad took the dragon out of my hands and I nearly yanked it back from him. I actually had to clench my fists. My dad raised an eyebrow, clearly noticing. He said, “I’ll get it for you, son.” I wanted the Dragon back in my hands so I nodded. Hugo jumped up and down, “Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy. Can I have that snake? Please! I want a yellow snake.” My mom chuckled, “Are you sure you don’t need it?” He answered, “No, I want it.” He was definitely tapped in the bond with me. My dad took us up and bought the yellow snake and purple Dragon. The woman said, “I’ll put these in a bag.” I grabbed the Dragon back, “I got it.” Hugo shot me a victorious smirk. My dad shot me a surprised and appraising look I ignored. Hugo asked, “What are you going to name it, H?” I answered, “K.” He frowned, “Like ok?” I answered, “No like you call me H. I’m calling her, K.” He huffed, “That’s not a good name.” My dad snorted, “It’s his Dragon.” He shrugged and I tucked the Dragon under my arm refusing to let it go. Flashback Ends Hastein blinked away the past and found his mate staring at him. I shrugged, “I just knew the name was K even though Hugo thought it was terribly uncreative. Now, I clearly see the hand of Aesir.” I twirled the purple part of her hair on my finger. I admitted, “That was what changed my favorite color to purple. It was the only purple animal in the whole tent, so Aesir guided me to it.” Her lips were on mine in the next second. Several people cheered. Kingsley pulled back, “Prepared to be amazed with my breath control, big boy.” She ripped my shorts off with her hands and threw them out of the pool. I told her, “I’ve been amazing since I laid eyes on you. Ripping my clothes off is very impressive.” She bit my bottom lip before grinding against me. I gripped her hips and she whispered in my ear, “You’ve seen nothing yet, mihi coronam princeps (my Crown Prince).” f**k me. She knew LATIN?! This woman truly would be the death of me. EEEEKKKKK They were BUSSSSYYYYY this chapter LOL . I was asked to try using the lines from characters in past chapters that they say out loud in the current chapter instead of glossing over (like I did for the scene in M/A from K's POV) I thought that was a reasonable request so I'm trying it out here. LMK your thoughts. I'm not in the comments here much, but i'll try after this chapter. If you are in my book of faces group The Ribbon Novels please share there. Anywho, K really tried to clue H in about her Dragon status but he took the clues wrong. His siblings are running around trying to catch sneek peaks. Who do you think will be most jealous of Cassie and Cayden getting to hang out with them? Are you surprised Lincoln had a plan to "casually" Meet Kingsley? What ideas does K have for his friends meeting people? Ehh ehhh? H needed his purple dragon and now he thinks it's begcause her eyes and hair are purple. How silly will he be when he finds out the truth? LOL How long do you think K can hold her breath? ;)
