She was legitimately puzzled based on her expression. Kayda said, “Awww, our pet is so cute.” She asked, “Me?” I answered, “They want you there somehow, someway. I think I haven’t seen Booker because he’s being punished for you being with the allies. Watch your step. I’ll keep an ear out.” Kayda scoffed, “You know it’s because he hurt that girl.” I replied, “It’s more than that though.” She agreed, “True.”
She warned, “You too, Kingsley. You’re literally in the lion’s den. The amount of people that would want you at their disposal if they found out what you were is high. Not to mention….a certain demon family disappeared.”
I laughed, “I know they did. They are worried your mate is going to destroy them.” Kayda said, “Hmmm we suspected. We’ve been too busy having s*x to check up on them.” Because I didn’t care. Kayda chuckled, “Yes! We care more about our steak tasting d**k on disposal to us not as often as I’d like because you want to work.” I replied, “We always have work.” She retorted, “I have a roasting chair I need to get and be pampered as the future Queen.” I sighed.
Melanie told me, “They should worry more about your mate.” That was true, but if Hastein had them I’d know so he didn’t. Plus, something told me I’d be running down Rolf and his family. I’d long since learned to trust my instincts.
I told her, “I have a feeling you and I will see those demons again. Maybe in our Resistance masks.” She grumbled, “Let’s not borrow trouble.” I shrugged letting it go. I said, “I’ll keep digging. There are rumors of a Fairy vampire with a fairy mate being in that trio I told you about.”
She began making plans, “I’ve got to get to Faerie and confirm my theory about Xander’s family.” I advised, “Keep your eyes peeled for your mate as well as yourself.” She replied, “You do the same. You look happy, K.”
I admitted, “I am. Hastein…” I trailed off then said, “He’s amazing.” I paused again then added, “Some memories have come back. I have a brother and a sister. I don’t understand if something happened to them. Or where they are. Or why I’ve been alone all this time. We seemed close. Plus, I am royalty. In my memory, my siblings and I were preparing for a banquet. We were announced as the crown prince and the princesses. The vision faded before I could see my parents.”
She hugged me, “It will all come back. Someone did this to protect you. Trust me, when your memories come back in a snap….it’s some kind of crap.” She would know. Kayda said, “It was crap for her because she had LIES in her head. I DO NOT HAVE LIES I HAVE NOTHING AND IT MAKES ME ANGRY!” Shocker. Melanie frowned and I could literally see the questions she had forming in her eyes about my family.
She suddenly asked, “Have you told Hastein what you are?” It threw me off completely because it’s not what I thought she’d say. I answered, “Not yet. I need to shift soon though. My Dragon is antsy.” Kayda scoffed, “ANSTY! I am orgasm blissed out. I’m less antsy than I have EVER been.” I replied, “You nearly killed Harriah four times today.” She argued, “Which shows my great restraint since she is alive.”
Melanie drew me back to the conversation, “You know….Hastein could have a sanctuary in the Hackura realm. Your dragon could actually fly outside without being seen there. Fairies can create Sanctuary’s only specific people can get into…and no one can see them.” Flying in the sky without being seen? The actual sky. Kayda screeched in excitement.
I managed to ask, “Do you really think so? She would love that. I would too, and H wants me to see more of the realm.” A pop sounded before she could answer. Angela Conners stood before us.
Melanie laughed then made introductions, “Angela Conners this is…” Angela interrupted, “Kingsley. Cousin Hastein’s mate. This is Klaus, my mate. I just HAD to meet you. Cassie must LOVE your hair. It’s super cool! You’re cool. You two have some adventures coming up. Just remember you have possessive mates.” She winked and popped away with Klaus.
Kayda said, “Another non-roastable in the family. Why were we hiding from all the non-roastables when we were on our own?” I snored, “So you could eat people.” She hummed, “I did make this realm a better place. It would’ve been far better off if you’d have let me eat everyone I wanted to though.” I sighed.
Melanie’s face was pinched up from Angela’s warning. I teased, “I think we will be running into some demons in Resistance masks, Mel.” She groaned, “Let’s just….it could be something else. There are actually quite a few possibilities….it’s not like we are never in danger. You are literally doing something where you are in constant danger at the moment.”
I happily said, “And my mate can’t say a damn word. He’s the crown prince of the Hackura. He’s done dangerous things his entire life.” She agreed, “That’s true….Xander is coming.” Kayda was back to being super happy because I knew who would be with her Xnader. I commented, “Then H is coming too.”
Seconds later her Xander walked in. Melanie’s Xander greeted, “Hello Kingsley.” I replied, “Melanie’s Xander.” I saw Hastein walk just inside the classroom. Kayda commented, “The man just OWNS every room he walks in.” He really did. I ran into his arms.
I whispered, “I missed you, H.” Kayda gasped, “Tell him I missed him more!” I retorted, “No, you don’t.” She scoffed, “Uhhh I obviously do because I would be naked in his presence all the time. You’re the one who wants to work.” I rolled my eyes.
Hastein said, “I missed you more.” Melanie asked, “Alexander…..does Hastein have a fairy created sanctuary in the Hackura realm that only he can get in?” He answered, “Not that I made, but that doesn’t mean he doesn't have one.”
Hastein laughed, “Aunt Haley created me one. She said every future King needs a place he can go where he can be safe, alone, and unfuckingdisturbed.” Kayda chuckled, “I do so like that tiny Fairy/Hackura hybrid.” I did too.
Melanie winked at me. Kayda asked, “Can we please show him?” She wanted to and so did I. I turned to my mate and asked, “Can you show it to me?” Hastein’s eyes brightened, “Of course.” Melanie’s Xander called, “Goodbye cousin. Enjoy your evening.” Hastein chuckled, “Oh, I will.” He opened a portal and we went through it.
He kissed me hard. When we pulled back I knew we were not alone. Angela Conners was waiting with her mate. She grinned, “Your new sanctuary specifically for you, Kingsley, and Kayda await. You both can go in.”
He told her, “I have one already.” She admitted, “I know that, but I wanted her to have this one. The boundaries are much larger than your other one. No one can see you in there or enter unless you or Hastein bring them in.” I blinked several times. Kayda said, “The sight seeing young Fairy knows our secret and didn’t tell anyone. I love this non-roastable family.”
Angela squealed, “HAVE SO MUCH FUN!” Klaus laughed and put his arms around her. I said, “You already know what I am.” She grinned, “I knew what you were when Hastein met you on the mountain. I peeked into your paths.” Kayda shouted, “LONG LIVE THE NON-ROASTABLES! Maybe I’m really not a ready to kill everyone Dragon. It’s just the stupid people and we’ve been around them.” Oh my god.
Hastein told her, “This is my little cousin with sight.” I laughed, “My dear, sweet mate. I know all the Conners and the powers that they have. There’s even a test on them, especially if you look out for them. Which by the way kid, you make it very hard with your sight and paths.” Kayda admitted, “That is true. She is hard to guard.”
She cackled, “I’d say I’m sorry but I can’t lie.” Kayda laughed with her, “She’s not even sorry. These are my people.” They definitely were. I sincerely told her, “Thank you for this.” She curtsied and gestured for us to go in with her hands.
She winked at Hastein, “Have fun. Just prepare yourself.” He asked, “For?” She tapped her chin, “So many things. Isn’t it more fun if you figure it out?” Kayda chimed back in, “Do you think she would tell us because I feel like she knows things I should know. Which is ANNOYING!” I teased, “And you thought you were a chill Dragon.” She scoffed, “People took my memories and they should feel like s**t for that. I have every right TO BE ANNOYED.” ON that she did.
Hastein disagreed with his cousin, “No, it’s not to me.” Klaus nudged her saying, “That’s fair. He has no Fairy blood.” She groaned, “Fine. You’re not prepared for what she is, the ride, and the lust that follows.” Kayda chimed back in, “I like all that. That sounds fun. Gosh, I wish I COULD EXPLAIN IT TO YOU BUT I CAN’T.” At least we were both still bitter about that.
Hastein snorted, “You think I’m not prepared for lust?” I mean she had to be because she could see it. Kayda happily shouted, “Bring it on! I’m ready.” Angela grinned saying, “I know you aren’t.” She grabbed Klaus and popped away.
Hastein chuckled, “They love their flair for the dramatic.” I told him, “I think it’s sweet she did this for you.” He gripped my hand and we walked inside. I gasped noting it really went up to the sky and there were caves all over I could spot. Kayda sniffled again, “Damn these Fairies and their ability to make me leak from my eyes!” Hastein caught my tears. He asked, “Are you ok?” I whispered, “It goes to the sky. The real sky.” He asked, “Don’t you like the water better?” Kayda now laughed, “He thinks we are a water creature.” I replied, “To be fair, we can hold our breath for a long time.” She snorted, “A water creature. He’s so cute and wrong.” Normally she would not find it cute to be compared to a water creature.
She demanded, “Shift for him, Kingsley.” I asked nervously, “Are you ready for this?” He answered, “More than.” I pressed, “And you won’t freak out?” He laughed, “It’s not really in my nature to panic.” He’d never seen a big ass Dragon before. Kayda pressed, “That matches his stuffed Kayda Dragon.” I backed up and took off my clothes.
He winked, “I’m not sure you want to show me.” I let Kayda come forward. He grinned, “Hello, Kayda.” She replied, “I do hope you aren’t scared of me, mate.” He crossed the distance between us and kissed her hard. He cupped her face when he pulled back then started directly into her eyes. He replied, “You and I are a team. I was made for you and you were made for me. I will not be scared of you and I’m sorry you’ve harbored one second of that feeling.” She cried and he caught the tears.
I asked, “Kayda?” She replied, “HE SAW ME LEAK FROM MY EYES! I DO NOT LEAK FROM MY EYES IN MORE THAN YOUR HEAD!” I told her, “At least you’re being level headed about it.” She screeched back at me. Once she stopped ‘leaking’ he stepped back and went over to a chair Angela must have snapped here.
Kayda took several deep breaths and I did so myself. I told her, “You can fly in the sky, Kayda. Come on, we can do this.” She stared right at him and started to transform. He actually fell off the chair. Kayda pranced over to him happily dancing. He whispered, “You’re beautiful.” She screeched and shot a heart fire at him. I screamed, “KAYDA!” He didn't ever flinch or look scared. He just looked at me with wonder. The heart of fire didn’t burn him. It turned into smoke and entered his nostrils.
Suddenly I felt shock and happiness. Our bond. Kayda replied, “Our DRAGON BOND! THAT’S RIGHT! I CAN DO THINGS LIKE THAT!” She was too happy to be angry; she didn’t know that yet. He touched her face and she put hers on his head. She screeched in terror when we saw a bunch of his family outside the sanctuary.
He put up his hands, “They can’t see you. There is nothing to be afraid of.” He calmed her and me down. He said, “I’ll go tell them I’m fine and come back. Maybe I could fly with you.” She screeched so happily and loud he covered his ears. He chuckled, “I’ll take that as a yes.” He left and clearly told everyone he was fine.
Kayda said, “He seemed happy and not disappointed, right?” I said, “I feel how happy he is. I think it’s because we trusted him.” This bond wasn’t like the Hackura bond where I could dive into his emotions, but I could feel him.
He came back in and approached us without an ounce of fear. He walked around to her tail and climbed up on her back. Kayda purred while he made his way to where her neck met her body. He settled in and chuckled, “Let’s fly.” Tears filled my eyes because we were going into the skies with our mate. Our first ever memory being in the skies with our mate. I wasn’t upset that I didn’t have my real first memory flying because this was going to be everything I’d dreamed of and more.
UGH! Harriah is TRYING to get eaten. It's the clear and obvious answer here. Kayda so feels that way. We met Troy :) He came back from traveling to HANDLE things lol. Kingsley isn't going to let anyone push her around. She uses their own rules to make sure no one is getting pushed around. Do you think John, Harriah, and their posse will cause issues? KINGSLEY SHIFTED INTO KAYDA FOR H! They have done their Dragon bonding piece as much as is instinctual to Kayda. Do you think there's more to it? Or is that just the Dragon piece? Kayda, Kingsley, and H are about to take to the skies.
