Okay. Naguguluhan na ako. First, Ace. Sila ba? I mean, what I only know is that Ace was just simply spying on him. Okay, not really spying, she's stalking him. Second, what the fvck is wrong with Sky?! Ang baduy ng babe!
Pabalik-balik ang tingin ko sakanilang dalawa nina Ace at Sky. Naguguluhan ako pero dapat kalma lang. Si Ace ay parang natatae na ewan. Paniguradong kinakabahan na siya. On the other hand, pabalik-balik din ang tingin ni Zach sa aming dalawa ni Sky, ang sama ng tingin niya kay Sky. What's his problem?
"Ah, love..." Pagkukuhang-pansin ni Zach. "Meet my brother, Sky"
"Nice to meet you, bro." Sky handed out his hand to Zach for a handshake but he just stared at it like it was the weirdest thing he ever laid his eyes on.
"Hey, it won't hurt just to shake my hand." Sky was irritated.
Hindi siya kinibo ni Zach kasi nasa akin pa rin yung tingin niya.
On the other hand, Sky was insulted. Binawi niya nalang yung kamay niya and he rested it on my shoulders pero agad ko itong hinawi.
"Whatever. It's not like that I want to shake your hand anyway." He said.
"A-and this is Snow..." Turo ni Ace sa akin. "My friend." Nakatingin lang ako kay Ace. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko. Ace is a good friend pero naguguluhan talaga ako. She doesn't have to keep secrets from me.
"She's my girlfriend." Sky added and rested his arms on my shoulder again. I glared at him kaya binawi niya yung kamay niya.
Nagkatitigan lang kami ni Zach— both of us don't know what to say. Hindi ko rin mabasa yung mukha niya. Blangko na naman.
"We've been acquainted." Sabi ko— breaking the ice.
"Acquainted." Tumango si Zach saka napangisi. "Yeah."
"Would you like to join us for dinner?" Aya ni Ace kay Zach. Nakatingin kaming tatlo sa kanya, hinihintay yung magiging sagot niya. If he'll say no, it would be fine. But if he'll say yes, it would be very awkward.
"No thanks." He refused.
He read my mind.
"Oh, okay"
Ace sounds disappointed. Can't blame her. Refusing an offer is an insult. But Zach made his choice.
Ang gandang panoorin ang mga bitiun sa gabi. It somehow makes me feel home, like I don't have to worry about a thing. It makes me calm and relax. The way I look at the stars in my window feels like I'm lost in space.
I decided to stay in my room after dinner. The dinner went well. None of them had the urge to throw knives or forks at each other. They usually do that and they won't stop unless they can't spot just a droplet of blood.
I stared back at the stars above.
"How I really want to join you." I whispered. Don't get me wrong, ayoko pang mamatay. It is just that I wonder how it feels being free like the stars. Up there at the sky at night, thousand of pairs of eyes looking back at them.
After doing my star-gazing routine, I decided to go to sleep so I close the window and tuck myself in bed. Sweet dreams to me, I guess.
"Princess..."
"Mommy?"
"Princess anak!"
My mother spread her arms as if asking me for a hug.
"Mom!"
I run as fast as I can para mayakap ko na si Mommy. She's here! As I run towards her, it seems like she's getting farther and farther!
Ano?!
"Mommy I'm coming!"
Takbo pa rin ako ng takbo at palayo naman ng palayo si Mommy! Napahinto ako ng may lalaking nakamaskara ng ginto at kinuha si Mommy. No! Hindi!
"No! Wag kang lumapit sa Mommy ko!"
"Anak! Tulungan mo ako!"
"Mom!"
"MOM!!"
Agad akong napaupo galing sa pagkahiga. Nasapo ko ang noo ko. It was just a dream. But something is still bothering. After all these years, ngayon pa ako pinanaginipan ni Mommy. Urgh!
I shivered. Ang lamig naman. I turned off the aircon before I go to sleep so there's no reason why it should be so freezing here. Baka si Mommy?
Naramdaman ko na naman ulit yung lamig kaya napalinga-linga ako.
I guess I was wrong. Nakita kong nakabukas pala ang bintana kaya nakapasok ang malamig na hangin. But, I was sure that I closed the door earlier. Hmm. Something's wrong here.
Tumayo ako para siguradohing sira ang bintana, but before I closed the window, I look around to see what's really going on. Aside from the cold wind at night, nothing's suspicious, I think.
"There's nothing in there." I turned around only to find Zach holding the picture of my mom.
"What are you doing here?!" I ask with a surprise tone in my voice.
"You got your mother's eyes. And you look exactly like her." He replied instead.
"Give me that!"
Patakbo akong lumapit sa kanya at pilit inabot yung picture frame na agad niyang itinaas. I tried to reach for it but he is just too tall for me. I even tiptoed so I can reach it.
"I said, give it back!"
I jumped but I twisted my leg accidentally and so I ran over him.
Crap!
Ang awkward ng position namin. Imagine me on top of him tapos magkatitigan pa. Umakyat yung init sa pisngi ko. Damn! Am I blushing?
Mukhang nagulat din siya so I took the opportunity to snatch the picture away from him as I quickly stand on my feet. I look down at him as he started to stand up as well.
"You shouldn't have took my property, and you shouldn't have entered anyone's house without permission. What were you thinking? Pwede kitang kasuhan ng trespassing."
"I just want to see you."
"See me? Why would you want to see me?"
"Just because..."
"Just because what? Kapag nalaman ito ni Ace patay tayong dalawa."
"She wouldn't know. Unless you tell her."
Sumasakit yung ulo ko dito sa lalaking ito. May girlfriend na nga, pumapasok pa sa kwarto ng ibang babae. Kung iisipin ang creepy nun.
"What the? What do you--"I was cut off when I heard a knock on the door.
"Snow? Are you okay?"
Speaking of...
"U-uhm..."
I look back at the person I was talking to earlier pero wala na siya. At wala kang makikitang bakas na he's been here. Ang bilis niya namang mawala. Though I suspected him. Hmmm.
"Snow?"
"Uh, I just had a bad dream"
"Okay, just drink a glass of water nalang."
"Okay"
I heard her footsteps walking away from my room. I quickly check outside my window. Thinking that he got out through the window so I assume that he went in through the window as well.
Now there's one question I have on mind.
Who are you Zach?
