“Selena!” Damian caught her tightly before she hit the floor. The moment he touched her, another strange wave of energy exploded through the room. CRASH! The remaining windows shattered instantly. Vanessa screamed in fear. Richard stumbled backward in shock. Ryan’s wolf whimpered loudly inside him. But Damian stayed completely still. His strong arms held Selena protectively against his chest. Her body trembled painfully. Silver-white light flashed around her for a few seconds before slowly disappearing. Then silence filled the room. Heavy silence. Damian stared down at Selena carefully. Her face looked pale. Too pale. His wolf growled anxiously. Protect her. Damian immediately lifted her into his arms. “We’re leaving.” Richard quickly stepped forward nervously. “Alpha Damian, what happened to her?” Damian’s golden eyes turned cold again. “You don’t deserve to ask.” Richard froze. Vanessa looked shaken. “What was that light?” Nobody answered her. Because honestly… Nobody knew. Except Damian’s wolf.White Luna. Ancient. Rare. Powerful. Impossible. Damian looked down at Selena again. His chest tightened strangely. He had searched for his mate for years. But he never expected fate to give him someone this special. Or this is broken. Ryan suddenly stepped forward desperately. “Uncle, let me help.” Damian’s eyes darkened immediately. “You’ve done enough.” Ryan clenched his fists painfully. “I still care about her.” Damian’s voice became deadly calm. “But you didn’t protect her.” The words hit Ryan hard. Because deep down… He knew they were true. Damian turned away calmly with Selena still in his arms. Vanessa suddenly shouted angrily. “You can’t just take her!” Damian stopped walking. Without turning around, he spoke coldly, “Watch me.” Then he walked out. Nobody dared stop him. Not even Ryan. Outside the mansion, black luxury cars waited silently. Guards immediately lowered their heads when they saw Damian carrying Selena. “Open the door,” Damian ordered. “Yes, Alpha.” The car door opened quickly. Damian entered carefully while keeping Selena close against his chest. The moment the door closed, his expression softened slightly. He touched Selena’s face gently. Too cold. His wolf became restless again. “She’s weak,” his wolf growled. “No,” Damian whispered. “She was treated badly.” The driver started moving immediately. Meanwhile… Back inside the mansion. Vanessa exploded into rage. “She planned this!” Ryan looked exhausted already. “Can you stop?” Vanessa stared at him angrily. “You saw how he looked at her!” Ryan remained silent. Because yes. He saw it. Damian looked ready to destroy anyone who hurt Selena. Vanessa crossed her arms tightly. “She’s manipulating him somehow.” Ryan finally snapped. “No.” Vanessa blinked. Ryan ran frustrated fingers through his hair. “You felt that power too.” Vanessa’s face became uneasy. “What if… she’s not ordinary?” Richard suddenly looked troubled. For the first time in years, fear entered his eyes. Because Selena’s mother once showed similar strange power before her death. But he quickly pushed the thought away. Impossible. Meanwhile… Inside Damian’s car. Selena slowly opened her eyes weakly. The first thing she noticed was warmth. Strong arms around her. A deep masculine scent. Safe. Her eyes lifted slowly. And met Damian’s golden gaze instantly. “You’re awake.” His deep voice sounded calmer now. Selena blinked weakly. “What happened?” Damian studied her carefully. “You collapsed.” Selena slowly remembered the silver light. Fear entered her eyes. “What was wrong with me?” Damian stayed silent briefly. Then finally answered: “I don’t know yet.” Which was partly true. Because he still needed confirmation. Selena slowly tried sitting up. But she immediately felt dizzy again. Damian held her waist gently. “Careful.” The touch made Selena’s heart race again. Everything about him affected her strangely. His voice. His scent. His eyes. She looked away nervously. “You really didn’t need to bring me here.” Damian frowned slightly. “You are my mate.” Selena’s face became red instantly. “That still sounds strange.” Damian’s expression softened slightly. “It won’t forever.” Selena looked at him carefully. He still looked cold. Dangerous. Powerful. But around her… He became calmer somehow. Different. “Why are you being nice to me?” she asked softly. Damian stared at her silently for a moment. Then answered honestly. “Because nobody else was.” Selena froze. Her chest tightened painfully. No one had protected her like this before. Not even her own father. Damian noticed sadness in her eyes instantly. His wolf became angry again. Who made her cry this much? Selena quickly changed the topic. “Where are we going?” “My mansion.” Selena’s eyes widened immediately. “What?!” Damian remained calm. “You need protection.” “I can stay at home.” “No.” The answer came too quickly. Too firmly. Selena blinked. Damian leaned slightly closer. “That house hurts you.” Selena looked down quietly. Because again… He was right. Damian watched her carefully. Then suddenly asked: “Did they always treat you badly?” Selena hesitated. She hated talking about herself. But somehow… Talking to Damian felt easier. “A little.” Damian’s eyes darkened. “A little?” Selena forced a weak smile. “It’s okay. I’m used to it.” Wrong answer. Damian’s wolf growled. Nobody should get used to pain. Especially not his mate. The car finally stopped in front of a massive black mansion. Selena’s eyes widened. The place looked enormous. Beautiful. Cold. Like Damian himself. Guards immediately opened the gates respectfully. Damian stepped out first, then helped Selena carefully. She stared around nervously. “This place is huge.” Damian glanced at her. “You’ll get used to it.” The words accidentally sounded too natural. Like she would stay forever. Selena noticed too. Her face became warm again. Inside the mansion, workers immediately bowed respectfully. “Welcome back, Alpha.” But the moment they saw Selena beside him, shock flashed across their faces. Because Damian Knight never brought women home. Ever. A beautiful older woman suddenly walked into the hallway. Silver hair. Kind eyes. Elegant appearance. “Damian,” she smiled softly. Then her eyes landed on Selena. Surprise flashed across her face instantly. “Oh…” Damian nodded once. “Aunt Evelyn, this is Selena.” Evelyn’s eyes softened immediately. “So this is your mate.” Selena became shy instantly. “Hello.” Evelyn walked closer warmly. “She’s beautiful.” Damian’s wolf purred proudly. Mine. Selena looked nervous under the attention. Evelyn immediately noticed her discomfort. “Poor thing,” she said softly. “You look exhausted.” Damian’s expression darkened slightly again. “She fainted earlier.” Evelyn became serious immediately. “Bring her upstairs first.” Damian nodded. He guided Selena upstairs carefully. Selena looked around quietly while walking. The mansion felt expensive but strangely lonely. Like nobody truly lived here emotionally. Finally, Damian opened a large bedroom door. The room looked beautiful. Soft silver decorations. Large windows. Warm lighting. “This room is for you,” he said calmly. Selena looked shocked. “For me?” Damian nodded. “You’ll stay here.” Selena immediately looked nervous again. “People at work will misunderstand.” Damian’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Do you care?” Selena hesitated. “A little.” Damian stepped closer slowly. His tall body towered over her easily. “They already hurt you even before knowing about me.” Selena stayed silent. Because again… He was right. Damian gently touched her chin. “Stop worrying about people who don’t protect you.” Her heart skipped wildly again. No man had ever spoken to her this way before. Ryan used to comfort her sometimes. But Damian… Damian made her feel safe. Wanted. Important. And that scared her. Selena quickly stepped back nervously. “I should go home tomorrow.” Damian’s face immediately became unreadable again. “No.” Selena blinked. “But—” “You’re staying here until I know you’re safe.” His voice left no room for argument. Bossy. Controlling. Yet strangely caring. Selena sighed softly. “Okay.” Damian relaxed slightly. Then suddenly— Lucas rushed toward the room quickly. “Alpha!” Damian immediately turned serious. “What happened?” Lucas looked troubled. “Our men found something.” Damian’s eyes narrowed. “What?” Lucas hesitated briefly. Then spoke carefully. “The rogues are searching for a White Wolf Luna.” Silence filled the room instantly. Selena looked confused. But Damian’s face darkened dangerously. Because now… His worst fear was becoming real.
