The terrifying growl echoed through the mansion again.

Low.

Dangerous.

Deadly.

Every wolf inside the house froze instantly. Ryan’s face turned pale. “No way…” he whispered. Selena looked confused and frightened. “What’s happening?” Before Ryan could answer— BOOM! The front door downstairs slammed open violently. A powerful Alpha aura filled the entire mansion immediately. The air became heavy. Oppressive. Selena suddenly found it hard to breathe. Even Ryan’s wolf lowered itself in fear. Only one man could release this much pressure. Alpha Damian Knight. Footsteps echoed downstairs slowly.

Calm.

Controlled.

But deadly.

Vanessa’s shocked voice suddenly rang out. “A-Alpha Damian?!” Richard quickly spoke nervously after her. “Welcome to my home, Alpha—” “Where is she?” Damian’s deep voice interrupted coldly. The entire house became silent. Selena’s heart started beating wildly. Why was he here? Ryan cursed softly under his breath. His uncle had never visited this mansion before.

So why tonight?

Footsteps started climbing the stairs slowly. Ryan’s breathing became harder. His wolf was panicking badly. Because deep inside… It already knew the truth. Damian had come for Selena. Selena stepped backward nervously. “Ryan…” Ryan grabbed her shoulders quickly. “Listen to me carefully.” His voice sounded urgent. “You must stay away from Damian.” Selena frowned. “What?” But before Ryan could explain—

The bedroom door suddenly burst open.

Damian stood there.

Tall.

Cold.

Terrifying.

His golden eyes glowed dangerously in the darkness. The room temperature dropped instantly. Selena stopped breathing. He looked furious. Actually… No. He looked murderous. His sharp eyes immediately landed on Ryan’s hand touching Selena’s shoulders. And his wolf lost control instantly. Mine. A deep growl escaped Damian’s throat. Ryan immediately stepped in front of Selena protectively. “Uncle—” “Move.” Damian’s voice was calm. Too calm. Which made it even scarier. Ryan clenched his fists. “You’re scaring her.” Damian’s eyes darkened dangerously. “You touched what belongs to me.” The words shocked everyone. Selena’s eyes widened. Ryan froze completely. “Uncle…” Damian slowly stepped forward. Power rolled off him violently. Even the walls seemed to shake slightly under his Alpha aura. Selena’s body trembled. Not because she was scared. But her wolf felt strangely excited around him. Warm. Safe. Wanted. Damian noticed immediately. And his wolf became possessive. Mine. Then turned cold again at Ryan. “She is my mate.” Silence exploded inside the room. Selena’s breath stopped. Ryan’s face lost all color. “What?” Selena whispered weakly. Damian kept staring at her deeply. “She belongs to me.” Ryan shook his head immediately. “No.” His wolf roared angrily inside him. Because somehow… It hated hearing Damian claim Selena. Damian’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “No?” Ryan stepped forward boldly despite the fear. “She was mine first.” Wrong thing to say. The entire room shook under Damian’s terrifying Alpha pressure. But he refused to back down completely. “She dated me for four years!” Damian’s expression became colder. “And yet you betrayed her.” Ryan froze. Damian slowly walked closer. Every step felt deadly. “You rejected her.” Another step. “You humiliated her.” Another step. “You made her cry.” Ryan’s wolf whimpered weakly under Damian’s dominance.

Then Damian stopped directly in front of him. “And now you think you deserve her?” Ryan clenched his fists painfully. His wolf had already submitted completely to Damian’s Alpha power. But his emotions remained chaotic. Because part of him regretted everything now. Vanessa suddenly appeared behind Damian. Her face looked pale and angry. “What is going on here?!” Her eyes moved between Selena and Damian. Then realization slowly appeared. “No…” she whispered. Damian ignored her completely. His attention remained on Selena only. Selena looked overwhelmed. Confused. Scared. Everything was happening too fast. Mate? How could Damian be her mate? He barely knew her. Damian’s expression softened slightly when he saw fear in her eyes. Immediately his aura weakened. The pressure disappeared from the room slowly. Selena finally breathed normally again. “I’m not here to scare you,” Damian told her quietly. His voice sounded gentler now. Very different from earlier. Ryan noticed it too. And jealousy stabbed his chest painfully. Damian never spoke softly to anyone. Ever. Vanessa suddenly laughed bitterly. “This is ridiculous.” Nobody answered her. Her eyes filled with rage. “She’s nothing special!” Damian slowly turned toward Vanessa. One cold look silenced her instantly. “You should be grateful,” he said calmly. Vanessa frowned. “For what?” “That I don’t punish women.” Fear flashed briefly across Vanessa’s face. Because everyone knew Damian Knight was dangerous. But nobody truly knew how dangerous. Ryan stepped forward again. “Uncle, please calm down.” Damian’s eyes returned to him sharply. “You lost the right to speak about her the moment you chose another woman.” Ryan looked pained. “But my wolf—” “Your wolf was too blind to recognize its true mate,” Damian interrupted coldly. The room froze again. Selena looked shocked. “What does that mean?” Ryan’s face turned pale instantly. “Uncle…” Damian ignored him. Instead, he looked directly at Selena. “Your scent triggered him because you were his destined mate candidate.” Selena’s eyes widened slowly. “But…” Damian’s expression remained cold. “He rejected you unknowingly when he completed the bond with Vanessa.” Selena felt like her heart had shattered all over again. Ryan immediately stepped closer desperately. “I didn’t know!” Damian’s eyes turned dangerous again. “But you still chose another woman over her.” Ryan fell silent. Because it was true. Vanessa suddenly grabbed Ryan’s arm possessively. “She’s lying!” Vanessa shouted at Damian. “Ryan is MY mate!” Damian looked completely uninterested. “He already marked you. That cannot change.” Vanessa relaxed slightly. But Damian’s next words destroyed her again. “That doesn’t mean he chose correctly.” Vanessa’s face twisted with fury. Selena suddenly felt dizzy. Everything hurt. Too much information. Too much emotion. Ryan looked at her desperately. “Selena…” But before he could move closer— Damian pulled Selena gently behind him. Protective. Possessive. Immediate. Ryan’s wolf growled. Damian heard it. And smirked coldly. “You lost her.” Ryan’s chest tightened painfully. Because for the first time… He realized it was true. Selena no longer looked at him with love. Only pain. Damian slowly turned toward Selena again. His expression softened slightly. “Come with me.” Selena blinked nervously. “What?” “You’re leaving this house tonight.” Everyone froze. Richard suddenly appeared at the door looking shocked. “Alpha Damian…” Damian’s eyes never left Selena. “She doesn’t belong here anymore.” Richard looked nervous immediately. “Alpha, surely there’s no need for—” “She will stay under my protection now.” The words sounded final. Absolute. Like nobody could argue against him. And honestly… Nobody could. Selena looked overwhelmed. “I… I can’t just leave.” Damian’s gaze softened slightly. “Why?” Selena looked down quietly. “Because this is still my home.” Damian stared at her for a few seconds silently. Then his eyes slowly moved around the room. At the sadness. The tension. The pain in her eyes. And his wolf became furious again. She suffered here. Damian hated it instantly. Vanessa suddenly spoke sharply. “She’s not going anywhere with you!” Damian finally looked at her again. Cold. Deadly. “And who exactly are you to stop me?” Vanessa opened her mouth— But no words came out. Because fear crushed her instantly. Damian looked back at Selena again. Then slowly reached out his hand toward her. “Come with me, Selena.” His deep voice sounded softer now. Warmer. Safe. Selena stared at his hand silently. Her heart beat wildly again. Everything inside her felt confused. Ryan looked desperate. Vanessa looked furious. Damian looked possessive. And somehow… A dangerous part of Selena wanted to take his hand. But before she could decide— A sudden sharp pain exploded inside her chest. “Ah!” Selena cried out and collapsed instantly. Everyone panicked. Her eyes flashed bright silver-white again. Power burst from her body violently. The windows shattered around the room.

Damian caught Selena before she hit the floor. His eyes widened slightly. Because his wolf suddenly whispered in shock—
