Chapter 7: The Queenness

The atmosphere in the room didn’t change at all when classes started and ended. Almost everyone in the room wears the same expression as the others, confusion.

“We’ll be going now” Eve looks at me worriedly, “Be careful”

“I will” I give her a smile, “You too, be careful”

Sonya gave me a nod and left together with Eve. I looked outside of the window and saw a student with a different uniform directly looking at me. He waved at me and gestured me to come down. I just replied with a smile.

I suddenly felt three new presence from the other side of the school.

“Alex, can you handle the three on the north side? I’ll handle things here” I connected with the professor’s mind.

“Yes, it will be done” He answered

“Oh, I forgot to tell you but don’t kill them” I added and the connection ended.

I waited until everyone left the room and the student waiting for me got impatient. He teleported in front of me.

“Man, you really are still the same back then” He scratches his head, “And here I thought you changed, that made me nervous”

“Of course, I changed but not entirely. After all, everyone can change” I point out in the window, “However, not all people change”

He looked at where I’m pointing and laughed.

I was pointing at the five more students jumping through buildings. Judging by how they look, almost all of them are from different schools.

“Well then, shall we get going, Van?” I stand up from my seat and stretch my arms.

He lets out a sigh, “And just when I wanted to surprise you”

“Give me a break, you were literally looking at me and I can feel your look from afar” I let out a sigh.

 “Still sharp as ever, Arya” He grinned, “But when will you call me your big brother?”

“Ughh, not that again” I give him a disgusting look, “Give it up already”

Sebastian Van Laurant, an infamous assassin known for killing royalties across kingdoms, and my big brother. We aren’t related by blood but we consider each other family.

We jumped from the window and chased the five students.

“Since you were prying, you know what they intend to do, right?”

“Yep, Hold on” He utters some words, “Barc, Decro!”

The sky suddenly turned dark and the buildings around us disappeared. Only the land that we’re currently standing on remains and so is the five students.

“Not bad for a former assassin” I praise him.

Barc means barrier and Decro means territory. Combining these words, imagining the creation of an artificial space and the result is the creation of a domain. A must skill for assassins back in our world since one can drag their target into their domain and it doesn’t leave any trace.

“Of course you’ll do better” His voice suddenly turned cold, “But, are you ready to kill?”

The thought of killing is already on my mind ever since problems started to rise, but…

“We don’t need to kill them, I have a way” I replied, “Just incapacitate them”

He lets out a sigh, “You know that I excel at killing people, but I guess we’ll do this the hard way”

There is no need for pointless bloodshed unless needed.

The five of them look at each other and give each other a nod. The three of them materialize a sword from thin air and the two behind started to put up a barrier.

“How surprising, it’s a party consisting of two mages and three warriors” Van grins, “One of them must be an all-rounder”

“Well, does it matter?” I give him a questioning look.

“Nope” He suddenly vanishes.

I snap my finger, “Swrezlt”

The barrier the two students made has been broken and at the same time, Van suddenly appeared behind them. He each hit their necks making them unconscious. The three others continued to come after me despite losing their two mages.

“Yact, Kotre, Kalum” I silently uttered

A chain erupted from the ground and restricted the movement of the three of them.

Just like that, the battle ended quickly.

Van approached me with a smile while carrying the two he knocked unconscious.

“It’s been forever since we fought together” He said and dropped the two unconscious mages near the three others, “But it sure is underwhelming, these guys aren’t even skilled”

“Well…” I looked away from him.

I mean, he’s a skilled assassin and I’m almost a sage, of course, normal knights and mages won’t stand a chance.

“Well, well, look who returned!” An ominous voice speaks.

There was suddenly a huge c***k up in the sky, a black figure enters through it.

“The domain is bypassed?” Van said while looking up, “This is the real deal”

I looked at the black figure and it seemed that it looked transparent.

“Well, looks like someone is afraid to face us?” I let out a mocking smile.

“Don’t tell me, that’s a spirit?” Van points at the dark figure.

It began to laugh maniacally.

“How magnificent! The queenness sure lives up to the name! Unfortunately, you are just an obstacle to our plans” It begins to chant and extends his arm forward, “Tac, Ylique”

“Barc, Fria” I also did the same.

A huge ball of fire appeared at the end of his hand and was currently directed at us. But, this is a good time to counterattack.

“Tac, Kove” I begin to utter the words.

The ball of fire made contact with my barrier and since my barrier is reflecting magic, I can use it to hide an attack. The ball of fire bounced back to the caster.

“Tact, Swrezlt” The shadowy figure chants and dispels two attacks at the same time, “Looks like I overestimated the queenness, is this all you got?”

“Ehh? Are you really provoking me? Can’t you at least don’t make it obvious” I raised an eyebrow.

It began to laugh maniacally again instead of answering.

“Fine, I guess I’ll stop playing” I seriously look at it, “Time to get serious”

I tried to calm myself and feel the energy inside me. I haven’t felt this sensation for a long time.

“I, Arya Sacaumus, break the seal that cast upon me by spirits, demons, and myself”

I tried to break the seal that I did a long time ago. Back then, when I was still Arya, my body couldn’t handle too much energy and I needed to seal a part of my energy in order to stabilize my body. But now, there are no more restrictions and for a long time, it remained dormant.

I felt something awakened inside me but it’s still not enough. My senses improved a lot and look like my sixth and seventh sense as well.

“Oh well, looks like this is enough” I cracked my neck, “Let’s do this”

I flicked my finger and a shockwave is created moving towards the shadowy figure.

It hit the shadow with an impact and pierced through his barrier.

“Chantless!?” It loses its composure, “How!? It even pierced my barrier!”

 “Of course it’s chantless, that’s just pure energy after all” I let out a smirk, “It simply means that I’m a lot stronger than you are”

“Heh, not bad for the queenness” Van laughs at looks at the shadowy figure, “You can kill this one since it doesn’t really ‘die’ after all”

“That’s what I intend to do” I give the shadow figure a look, “Fey, Vexus”

It suddenly fell to it’s knees.

“H-How d-did you…” He begins to fade, “Tampering with life itself is a taboo for the living!”

“It is taboo indeed, but not for me” I can’t help but laugh, “After all, I’m an exception”

It didn’t have the chance to say anything more and disappeared.

“Well, that settles it” I look at the five students, “Van, can you bring them? I’ll also introduce you to the princess”

 “Oh? Which girl?” He looks at me, “Is it the average one?”

“Average?” I give him a scary smile.

“D-Did I just say something wrong?” He looks at me nervously.

“Well, I’ll let her decide” I walk faster, leaving him behind.

I connected to Eve’s mind, “Eve? Is everything alright?”

“Yes, Alex came back with three students as you told him.” She replied.

“Good, we’re finished on this side too, and also, my big brother is back”

“That good for nothing brother of yours?”

“Yes, and he said that you’re average”

“…. Bring him here” She said before cutting off

“Good luck” I pat Van’s back

He put on a confused look on his face and I can’t help but secretly laugh.

We arrived at the rooftop and bunches of students are already there listening to the owner. But the moment we stepped on the rooftop, Eve punched the hell out of Van’s face and sent him flying.

“Whoa! That’s a home run!” I try to look where he lands but I can’t see it at all.

“That piece of crap…” Eve’s fist is shaking from anger.

Well, it can’t be blamed since the two of them are like water and fire, they never get along well with each other. I don’t know well how they turned out to be like that but I think it was because of that.

“Queenness, you can’t go out like that!” Virelia stops me, “Please think about your appearance!”

“What’s wrong with my appearance?” I look at her, “This is a gift from my brother though?”

She looks at me and turns red, “T-that’s indecent!”

“Even though it’s comfortable? Van said that it’s what assassins wear on daily basis”

Virelia holds out a mirror.

“My tummy, shoulders, and legs are revealed. So what’s the problem?” I ask her again with a confused look.

“Please, don’t wear it?” She looks at me with puppy eyes.

“F-Fine, but in one condition” I give her a smile, “From now on, whenever you have a request you have to do that again”

She stops for a moment and answers, “Yes if it’s your wish”

She steps outside and I can hear Van’s scream.

Is it that really a big of deal? Well, now that I remembered it…

“Hey, Eve” I grab her hand, “From now on, whenever you have a request you have to do that again”

She stopped for a second and blushed very hard before looking away. I suddenly felt eyes on us and when I turned to the students, they were looking at Eve.

“KEEP.YOUR.EYES.OFF.HER” I give them a scary smile.

That was enough for them to look away. I looked at Eve and she’s still blushing.

“I-I can’t believe you still remember that..” She looks down, “That’s embarrassing”

“I don’t care since it’s different now”

She didn’t answer but I can feel her holding my arm lightly.

After a while, Van comes back while holding his head.

“That hurts, you still haven’t changed” He looks at Eve, “Still scary as ever!”

Eve gives him a death glare and Van glares back at her.

“Now, now. Van, she’s now my girlfriend” I let out a sigh, “Soon, she’ll be my wife so you two better get along”

Eve turns red again but knowing Van, he said something that pissed off Eve again.

“What!? This barbaric woman!?” He points at her.

She responds by slapping him so hard that he lost consciousness.

“Twice in a day, I guess this isn’t Van’s lucky day”

We left him alone laying on the ground and we decided to continue with the meeting.

The owner looks at me for a moment then proceeds to continue her speech, “Are there any objections? Meow?”

Nobody answered and looks like they all agree. But, what are they talking about?

“From now on, this school will be under the protection of the queenness and so all of you, in return you all will be serving him until death!”

“Yes!” All students answers in unison.

“Wait what?”
