Chapter 2: The Past

I immediately got out of the room to find Eve, but where do I find them?
I closed my eyes and began to feel the presence of everyone in the Academy. I found out that she’s in the gym together with other girls.
Looks like the law enforcement is already here and can’t also do a thing because the armed men are holding the girls as hostages. I need to save them!
I realized that I should have not killed those men back in our room; it will attract suspicion if anyone were to find their bodies. I made their hearts burst inside after all. I decided to knock out the remaining armed men instead of killing them.
I went to the gym undetected while rendering making the armed men that I passed through or encountered unconscious as fast as I can and looks like they keep all the hostages in one place. Good thing, they aren’t doing a thing to them but I need to move fast. There are currently 35-armed men in there, I could take them out without difficulty but how do I do that without the students seeing me? I could make myself invisible then I can sneak in or…
I saw Sonya among the hostages and she looks calm, she definitely is someone like me.
I decided to communicate with her through her mind.
“Hey, can you hear me?” I can see her shocked face and looking around to find me, “I will get all of you out there but I need your help”
“Yes” She responded back.
I can’t help but smile knowing that I’m correct.
“Can you make the students unconscious?” I began to move in order to initiate my plan.
“I can, you will do a frontal assault?”
“No, the police will do their job”
I went to the empty part of the school.
“An explosion will do its job, put up a barrier with you and the students while you are at it”
“Wait, you’re going to blow up the school!?” She suddenly raised her voice.
“Relax, I’m only going to blow up a part of the school. I already knocked out most of the shooters in the school except in your location.”
“In the name of gods, you better make sure nothing will happen to other students”
This way, the law enforcement will be forced to enter the school and at the same time it will provide a distraction to the armed men. The shooters doesn’t know that most of their men are lying unconscious.
I began to cast Fal-Hel and set it off for 3 minutes, that way I can make my way back to the gym and help the hostages.
After casting, I made my way back and used Fal-Hel again to make their guns malfunction.
“Now just wait for the authority to come, the barrier will help you and I made some precautions”
“Thank you, but who are you?”
“I’m… let’s talk about this the other time”
I severed the connection between our minds and went back to our classroom. I look at the bodies of the armed men I killed.
How should I clean this mess? Maybe I should throw away their bodies…
I began to feel dizzy all of a sudden and my vision begins to blur. Before I knew it, I fell down and everything went dark.
“Lilaf, have you brought trouble again?” I saw the young girl sitting alone in the fountain.
“Master…” She looks at me as if she was about to cry, “It wasn’t my fault! I did it b-because…”
Before she could say anything more, I pinched her cheek, “You stupid student of mine, there are many ways to do it but you decided to act rashly”
She didn’t answer.
“People make mistakes, even I do sometimes. But do tell me, why did you do that?”
“That stupid fatty wanted to take advantage of those people!” She crossed her arms
“And that’s why you used Fal-Hel to strip all his clothes?” I let out a sigh, “How should a princess act?”
“With dignity, honor, grace, and authority” I gave her a smile
“That’s right, the future queen must be aware of her decisions” I stood up, “Now, get up. The queen is looking for you”
“Yes!”
I woke up and saw an unfamiliar white ceiling.
“Thank god! He’s finally awake! Call the doctor!” I can hear mom’s voice
I turned around and saw mom, dad, and my older sister.
“W-why are you here? I mean, why am I here?” I suddenly realized that I am in the hospital.
“You were found unconscious along with your classmates but you were out for 2 days!” Mom hugs me
“Ehh? I was out for that long?”
“Yes, don’t worry about school. They said that the school will re-open after two weeks.” Mom hands me a plate with food, “How are you feeling now?”
“I feel fine now, maybe I’m just exhausted”
Yeah, exhausted from using magic.
The doctor came and did some check-ups on me and said that I can finally be released.
“But, what happened while I was passed out?” I ate while I asked questions.
“The police said that an explosion was heard and they found several dead bodies in your room. They also said that almost all of the shooters aside from the gym was found unconscious. It was the same for all the students that were found inside the school, including you”
“That’s weird” I feign ignorance
“It sure is weird but the good news is that no one got hurt” Mom hugs me again, “I was worried…”
“Don’t worry mom, I’m okay now”
I suddenly thought about Eve.
“Mom, where is my phone?”
Mom handed me my phone and my hunch was right. I have messages from Eve and from an unknown number.

I’m okay if you are reading this, I heard that you are still unconscious. Text me as soon as you get out of the hospital, okay? I miss you.

Can we meet up as soon as you’re okay? We have to talk. This is Sonya.

I checked the date on my phone and some of the messages are already 2 days ago, but I wonder how did Sonya got my number or rather, why does she want to meet with me? Does she already know? Looks like I have matters to settle, but I should see Eve first.
“Mom, I’m okay now, can we get out of here now?” I asked eagerly
“Sure, since the doctor said you’re fine now”
I changed into new clothes and my parents goes to see the doctor.
“You sure you are okay?” My older sister asks me.
“Yep, I finally slept for two days!” I jokingly said.
“Well, I’m glad you’re already fine. I suddenly came home when I heard you got involved in something dangerous”
“Thank you” I smiled
“You’re my little brother after all”
After that, we left the hospital and got permission to go to Eve’s house.
On my way there, I saw Sonya in front of Eve’s home. Why is she here?
She noticed me and dragged me, “Good thing you’re here!”
The door opens and Eve looks surprised to see me.
“H-heya, I just got out of hospital” I scratched my head, “I went here as soon as I can”
“So you don’t intend to meet with me?” Sonya looks at me
“Well, why do you wanna meet anyway?” I gave her a curious look.
“You two can come in, we can talk inside” Eve said to us seriously.
We entered Eve’s house and she led us to her room.
This is the first time I’ve been to her room, it’s quite normal and neat. Her bed is small and there is a small table in the center with carpet below it.
“Feel free to sit down” Eve sat down, “We can ‘talk’ about that here”
“What is ‘that’?” I asked them and they stared at me, “Is something wrong”
“I know it’s you who saved us” Sonya started, “There are many things we need to talk about”
“And does this involve Eve?” I looked at her.
“Yes, because I also remember” Eve suddenly speaks Agonian.
“She is also one of us” Sonya confirms.
“Wait, wait. Could you both start at the top?”
They looked at each other.
“It’s kinda my fault” Sonya laughs forcedly, “After what happened to the school, I didn’t notice that I dropped my notebook. Fortunately, Eve here found it but for some reason when she told me that she understands what’s written in it”
“I think this is not a bad thing” Eve defends Sonya.
“It’s not a bad thing if you don’t let the past affect the present” I added, “I want to ask if you learned your past then will it change anything?”
“What do you mean?” Eve looks at me innocently
“Erm..”
I tried to find the right words to explain it to her.
“He’s saying that maybe you’ll break up with him because you might find your past lover or something” Sonya said with a bored expression, “Just get to the point”
I can feel the heat rising to my face.
“I-I won’t do so such a thing!” Eve’s face turned red, “There’s a person I’d want to see but she’s not a lover or anything”
“She? Is that your sister?” Sonya curiously asked.
Eve shakes her head, “She was someone I was serving back then. I only knew little of her, even though we are together for a long time.”
“So you love her?” I asked her and she flinched, “Ahhh, looks like I have a rival”
I laughed it off.
“I’m sorry Eve, I didn’t mean it that way. I know the feeling since I, too remember” I took a deep breath, “In my case, I had daughters. I want to meet them too”
“Daughters? I thought you are something like a mage. Mages back in our world doesn’t get married because of the oaths they have taken” Sonya looks amazed, “Which kingdom do you belong?”
“Well, if we’re going there anyway, I suggest that we each introduce ourselves who we are in the past”
They both looked at each other and nodded.
“I’ll go first I suppose, I’m Lilaf Riquel the sole princess of Dargon Kingdom” Sonya proudly announced.
My eyes widened upon hearing her name.
Of course, it’s a familiar name, Lilaf Riquel I taught her Fal-Hel for 3 years!
“Ehhh, you’re a princess?” I can hear the doubt from Eve’s voice.
I can’t help but laugh at her reaction, seems like Lilaf is still the same as ever.
“Hey! I really am and I’m a great mage too” Sonya pouts.
“Revealing ourselves feels a little too silly now” I awkwardly laughed.
What would their reaction if I were to say that I’m a girl back then and I’m Sonya’s teacher when she was a princess?
“You’re the one who proposed this, don’t tell me you’re backing down now?” Sonya’s left eyebrow raised.
“I-I wasn’t thinking of that” I tried to laugh it off, “Well, it's Eve’s turn now”
“I’m Virelia Alexomos, A knight who took the oath for Arya Sucaumus” She puts her hand on her chest as a symbol of loyalty.
My jaw dropped when I heard who she was.
Eve is Virelia Alexemos?? How in the world is that possible??
"EHHH!? Master had a knight??" Lilaf's shock is understandable
Virelia became my knight after I finished tutoring Lilaf, which is why Lilaf does not know about her.
" We both have connections to master, it must be fate!" Sonya holds Eve's both hands then looks at me, "You must be connected to master too!"
Eve and Sonya looks at me excitedly.
Oh boy, I kinda feel like not telling who am I anymore.
