Chapter one

There was a time when witches and wolves hated each other you see a very long time ago a very powerful Witch was madly in love with a man who was in love with someone else and to punish him for not loving her she cursed him to become a wolf on the turning of the full moon and that curse was passed on for generations until one day a witch fell in love with a wolf and he in love with her there love for one another broke the curse Well mostly they where all still wolf's but they were able to change in and out of there wolf form and weren't forced to change into a wolf when the moon was full you see only the witch who made the curse can truly remove one but I mean who wouldn't want the power to shift into a beautiful wolf and run wild whenever they wanted so I guess the curse wasn't all bad you probably wonder why I'm telling you this well because it's where my story begins you see I'm the daughter of a very beautiful very powerful witch yeah my mom is pretty awesome but I'm also the daughter of the alpha of our pack my dad and his dad and his dad's dad as far back as they can remember have been alphas so you can imagine the surprise when the alphas first born was a hybrid female and not the male heir they were expecting I was a shock to say the least fast forward through years of a childhood full of high expectations I had to study harder and train harder than anyone else I never had time for anything or anyone making friend was basically impossible but I managed to make one and boy did that piss my family and my pack off can you imagine that? Me the future leader of the pack friends with a mere human being and a boy at that. It was a scandal the day I brought him onto pack lands it didn't seem to matter to anyone that I trusted him with my life people where going crazy what if he saw someone turning blah blah blah all pack all of the time everything for the pack what about me am I never allowed to have a life of my own I never asked for this it was forced on to me I never really cared what the pack thought about my friend I was going to be there alpha and being an alpha meant taking charge and while I will gladly take their advice into consideration it would be my job to make the final decision on important matters and as far as I was concerned my best friend was not going anywhere finally after months of him coming to my house they stopped staring at him like he had grown a second head. I guess really I should start with who I am my name is Summer queta I'm eighteen years old for another two month and up until a year ago I was the loner daughter of the alpha after years of never trying to make friends no one in my pack expected me to make any but one day out of the blue a year ago there was a new kid at school two weeks after school started and he seemed nice smiled at everyone he seemed to make friends easily and then at lunch he did something I never expected to happen you see I would set alone in the back corner of the cafeteria and I liked it that way I could eat in peace no giggling girls talking about their boyfriends or picking on kids who don't quite fit in everyone said it was a shame I was too beautiful to be a loner but I wanted it that way or at least I thought I did No distractions from what I was supposed to do graduate with Honors then one day run the pack that was my whole purpose in life then he sat down at my table and the whole cafeteria went silent no one has ever tried to set with me my pack mates where all standing now ready to protect there alpha if needed like I couldn't protect myself from a human I laughed inwardly at them then looked at him. Hi my name is Aaron I'm new to this school and noticed you setting her by yourself so I thought what better way to introduce myself then to eat lunch with you. I laughed. What's so funny he asked. Do you think I'm setting here on my own because no one wants to set with me do you think your doing me a favor by setting with the poor girl no one likes because if you are you are wrong and I find that funny that is why I'm laughing not knowing what to say to that I guess he just looked at me. look around Aaron he turned around seeing everyone staring at us, some of my packmates still standing. Do you know why they are sitting in their seats looking at us and not saying a word? No I don't know why there doing that would you like to enlighten me? Well Aaron they are doing that because no one sets with me and I like it that way I have run every person who has ever tried to set with me off from the time I was in the fifth grade until now I am only in school to graduate not to make friends that's my choice not because people haven't wanted to be my friends he'll look at me do I look like a girl who couldn't have friends to you. Well no but also I never thought that in the first place just thought you were far too beautiful to be sitting all alone and so I wanted to come meet you but have fun trying to run me off I don't scare easily he said with a smile and I laughed out loud and everyone gasped. That my friend is how I meet my one and only friend and of course I did try Very hard to push him away run him off but nothing worked and a almost a year later I brought him home to meet my mom and dad it was weird to say the least I think my dad actually sniffed him because random people staring at him as we walked up to my door wasn't bad enough. Aaron played it off like he didn't even notice the only way mom would agree to let him in the house was to give him truth tea so he couldn't lie when they asked him questions about his life and family worried that somehow he was a spy from another pack but he passed with flying colors. Though mom said she felt an energy off of him that she couldn't explain fast forward to today two months from my eighteenth birthday. Aaron what are you doing? Oh nothing he said as he snapped a picture of me as I was putting my thick long brown hair up into a ponytail both of my hands above my head allowing my stomach to show as my spaghetti strap shirt rode up. Stop doing that you know I hate it when you take my picture. Yeah but you look soooo cute in your workout clothes he said teasingly with a wicked smile on his face. I won't look so cute when I'm kicking your ass in this race we are about to have. Yeah yeah you're faster than me we get it he smiled again and I couldn't help but smile back and don't you forget it. So sunshine what are we going to do for your birthday? The big one nine my little Summer is getting so big he fake cried. I pushed him would you stop and we are not doing anything for my birthday. I don't celebrate them. It's just another day for me that's it. You have to celebrate your birthday. You only turn nineteen once. Aaron I'm pretty sure you only turn every age once. Not true my aunt May has been 25 for at least 4 years he said laughing at his own joke I laughed too. Yeah well the age she is in her own head doesn't count sorry to tell her that. He laughed again your joke isn't going to get you out of this Summer it's your nineteenth birthday. You have to have a party. And invite who Aaron you're my only friend not that I mind that but really who would I invite? Well then we will have to have a party for two Summer more food for me that way. I just have to know how the hell do you stay so dam fit with as much as you eat just saying. He laughed running after your ass every weekend would you slow the hell down dam girl no one's chasing you. Well actually you are running behind me so technically you are chasing me. He laughed so hard he lost his footing causing him to fall I stopped and ran back to him to make sure he was ok but his ass was on the ground still laughing. Not sure if it was my joke or the fact that he had just embarrassed himself by falling face first in the grass. I laughed and couldn't help myself have a nice trip? He grabbed me and pulled me down next to him and started tickling me. Oh you think it's funny do you that your best friend fell I could have broken my neck and many other body parts he said tickling me with no Mercy. Ok ok stop I give I said by the time he stopped he was leaning over me our faces really close to each other so close that I could feel his breath on my lips he smiled bent down and kissed…… my cheek my heart stopped for a moment thinking he was going to kiss me and not really knowing if I wanted that or not then it was highly disappoint when all he did was kiss my cheek stupid heart not knowing what it wanted. It was a pack rule that we can't date humans but would it change things if I thought he was my mate, the one person I'm suppose to spend the rest of my life with. I didn't know I couldn't think about that while I was pinned under his body. Could feel his growing erection against my leg causing moisture between my legs instantly and a growing twinge I didn't understand. My heart started racing as his lips pulled away from my cheek and before I knew it without thinking almost like my heart and body were working without any help from my brain my hands were on the back of his head and on his neck pulling him closer again. Before he realized what was happening our lips touched and it was like fireworks going off throughout my entire body. I kissed him with everything I had not ever wanting it to come to an end not caring who saw or if I ever took another breath as long as his lips never left mine then he pushed away from me looking shocked not exactly the look I was hoping to see from the first guy I ever kissed Summer we! Stop Aaron don't finish that sentence I know what your going to say I said pushing him off of me and getting up we are just friend it will never be anything more I get it save the speech I'll see you later I said and ran off needing to get out of there before he saw the tears that where starting to fall as I ran I could barely hear him say Summer wait but I didn't stop I ran from the park near the school 5 miles to my house I needed to let my emotions die down before I got home everyone would be on high alert if i walked through my front door with tear running down my face but even a five mile run couldn't stop them why did this hurt so bad like my heart had been ripped out and handed to me I tried to compose myself before I went into the house but witches can feel energy and when a witch is upset there energy is well let's just say heightened So of course my mom felt and before I could even make it to the door it was opened and she was standing in it worry in her eyes what's wrong Summer and don't tell me nothing because I know better it's pouring off of you like the Niagara Falls I looked and her and my shoulders just fell and the tears that I had just managed to stop moments ago where falling again she ran to me holding me in her arms baby tell me what happened we set on the front steps and I told her everything i had always been open and honest with my mother and this was no different I told her about him wanting to throw me a party how he tripped and pulled me down even about how I could feel him getting excited and that I kissed him then I told her what happened after words how could I have been so wrong mom I said still crying it felt like my whole body was going to explode when we kissed but he clearly doesn't feel the same way and now I've ruined the only friendship i've ever had Summer what exactly did he say after you kissed well I didn't actually let him finish he pushed me away and said Summer we and I told him to stop and ran off. So u don't know how he feels hunny you never let him finish. you should have seen the way he looked at me mom like he couldn't believe I would even try to kiss him. hunny maybe he was just shocked you know the first time your dad kissed me I slapped him. not because I didn't want him to kiss me but because I was so shocked that it had happened that my body just reacted on its own. I laughed at mom. This was different. He was kissing me back at first then he pushed me away. Well maybe he's worried that it will hurt your friendship if you two date. I don't know mom but it's not like we can date anyway wolf/witch and human it's against pack rule remember. That honey is only if he isn't your mate and from the way you said your body reacted to the kiss I would be willing to bet that he is baby but there is only one way to find out but we need him here for that and we need to get your dad to agree to it. Why how do we find out? A mating circle hunny. Mating as in s*x I wispred. My mom laughing oh no honey mates do that in their own time when they feel comfortable with it. A mating circle is an enchanted circle that you will stand in and only your true mate will be able to enter it but before we can do that one Aaron has to be here and two. He has to know what we are I finished for her. Yes and that is why we have to involve your father because telling a human can be dangerous for us like pitchforks and torches. Hate to tell you mom but I think they have upgraded to knives and guns now she smiled at my joke then said none of those options are good. What are you two out here gabbing on the porch like two old hens about just then my dad saw my tear stained face and instantly went into alpha protector dad mode what happened I'll kill whoever mom stopped him Anthony you daughter has found her mate my mom said his eyes got wide. I don't understand why that would upset her. My mom explained everything to my dad leaving out the unnecessary parts aka his male extremities Harding on my leg. My dad looked confused and not very happy at the possibility of his only child and future Alpha having a human as a mate. My mom continued we have to know for sure if they are mates' love and you know what that means my dad's eyes got even wider if that was possible. Mary, do you really thank it is wise to tell a human what we are? It has never ended well in the past. If he is her mate dear we have to know. And then my dad did something I never expected him to do he sighed and said I know you're right love we will do this tonight the sooner we know the better but it can't just be him that knows we have to have his mother and father over here as well if they are mates they will all need pack protection because if other packs find out about a human mating with our daughter they will try to use that to hurt us. My mom picked up her phone and called Aaron's parents and very politely invited them to our house for dinner that night then we went inside to prepare for the evening mom and I cooked and dad got together everything we would need for the circle and put it in the library. When Aaron and his family got there he tried to get me alone to talk to me but I told him everything was ok. I was just embarrassed by what had happened that was a lie of courses and he could see right through it but he left it alone. We all enjoyed dinner and made small talk when dinner was over we all moved into the room we only use to entertain company I think they call it a great room but right now I was so nervous I wasn't sure what wasn't so great about it we all set down and my mother calmly started I'm sure you are wonder why after a year of our children being friends we have on just now invited you to our home and there is no easy way to say this so I will just rip the bandaid off so to speak and what you are going to hear will be hard to believe but I assure you it is very true so I'll just start with we are not an ordinary family we are a family if you will with supernatural abilities. Amy and John Aaron's parents looked at one another and then back to my mother. What do you mean exactly John said? Well you see I am a witch my husband she said looking at my dad is a wolf and our daughter my mom said is. A hybrid Amy said with shock in her eyes, already standing and walking to me my dad started to move but my mom stopped him. She looked at me with aww in her eye, never taking them off of me. Her eyes turned white and she said first born of witch and wolf but more powerful then both she will save them all days of darkness are coming but sunshine once again is in her hands! As she finished she collapsed but her husband caught her before she hit the floor. you're the one he said. I looked at my mother and asked what is going on, mom. Summer honey she is a seer they see things not always exactly like pictures sometimes well most of the time it's like prophecy you won't actually know who it's talking about but you know what will happen. Aaron's dad looked at me again. She has seen you many times but we never knew it was you, my dear and your right Mary. She is a seer and I am a witch. We didn't know there were more people like us here. Dad Aaron said what are you saying. Son I'm so sorry we never told you we have hidden this and you abilities from you because we were afraid we never should have done that to you but you have to understand that our kind have been hunted for years we have been put to death for just being what we are and we never wanted that for you just then Amy started to wake up. I'll make her some tea my mom said it will help. Thank you he said smiling when she saw fully awake she looked at me with love in her eyes and said I have looked For you for years my dear before you were born even only to find you as my own son's best friend and mate I gasped and Aaron looked even more confused. My mother smiled at her. You can feel it then. Oh yes she said from the first time we saw her with him. Ok will someone please fill me in over here because I am very much lost Aaron said looking at me. His mother said Aaron my dear boy you've heard of one true love well our kind have that as well but it runs deeper than anything humans could possibly have it's is like every possible Adam in your body belongs to the other person you are drawn to each other like magnets and not even the strongest persons in the world can tear that a part. His mother turned to mine. You want to do a circle that's why you called us here. Yes I do, my mother said but this has to be Aaron's choice. It will not work if he isn't willing she said looking at him. I don't know Aaron said this is just all too much. My mother smiled at him Aaron I know this is a lot to take in but let me ask you something. When my daughter kissed you today what did you feel? His cheeks got red I don't know it was nice and I liked it a lot no hunny think back focus on the kiss what does it feel like was happening when you kissed he huffed like my whole body was heating up and tingling like electricity was flowing through my veins that's why I stopped the kiss. My mom smiled and I gasped once again Aaron looked at me. What? I felt it too. I said he smiled at me and said ok let's do this test. While my mom and his dad set everything up that my dad had gathered from my mom's list Aaron came over and sat next to me on the couch then he looked at me and said why did you run I looked away closing my eyes then I felt his hand on my cheek pulling my face back to looking at him Summer answer me please why did you run from me. I kissed you Aaron and you pushed me away. Summer did you not feel me kissing you back I wanted that kiss just as much as you did hell I've wanted that kiss from the day I met you do you know how hard it has been knowing I wanted more but could never have it and then you kissed me and I realized maybe my feelings for you where not as one sided as I thought and it scared me because our friendship means the world to me and i've seen what happens when friends date and then break up Summer they don't stay friends and I knew if I lost you as a friend I would be nothing. This time he looked away from me and it was my turn to pull him back to look at me you are my best friend Aaron the only person to ever be able to break down the walls I built to keep people out you could never lose me no matter what happened with my hand still on his face I slid it to the back of his head and leaned in until our lips where almost touching and said you are the one person in my life besides my family I can trust and can count on to always be there and your right There has been something between us from that first day I just didn't want to admit it to myself or anyone else but I LOVE YOU Aaron and I have from that first day I saw you and I don't expect you to love me in return I just had… just then his lips met mine but the kiss was far to shot he pulled away and said would you just shut up did you not hear a word I just said Summer. I LOVE YOU TOO and I have since the first day I met you just then my mother walked in and smiled at us. Are you two ready? Yes Aaron said but can you tell me what this means for us if we are mates what does that mean. Its means that you to belong to only each other and no one will ever be able to tear that connection that you have apart think of it like a blood transfusion the blood is someone else's but the moment it enters your body it becomes yours with mates your whole being belongs to the other person and vice versa and when the two of you decide to become one that connection will grow even stronger. We must do this now the circle has to be cast at midnight but before we can do that we have to remove the wards your father put on you to block magic yours and others that's must be why you were able to lie to me when I asked you if you were in love with my daughter she smiled and I looked shocked at both of them. What are you talking about? I gave him the tea and the ward stopped it from working. No I get that mom I mean the love part. Oh I asked him if he was in love with you while you were in the restroom and he said. She is my best friend and I love her like a sister Aaron finished for her. So you see since the tea didn't work he was able to lie to me my mother said with a smile and walked off. Why didn't you tell me my mom asked you that. Because then you might have asked me the same question and I'm not sure I could have lied to you he said and stood up taking my hand and pulling me toward the Library.
