LYRIA’S POV;
“You can’t do this to me” I said, buried in grief.
Aunt Mara had agreed to send me off, and not just to anyone but him.
Darok.
“Give her three days, she would comply” she drank a sip of tea from her cup. Unbothered by the fact that she's about to ruin my life.
“No, I won't go, I refuse” I said, adamant.
“You should be lucky a beta wished to marry you” She said, sternly.
Lucky she says.
“Considering who you are” She spoke again.
A sudden burst of disgust erupted from my stomach.
Who was I?
“You mean, because I am an Omega?” I asked, angered and withered.
“No, ” she said coldly.
“A burden”
That hit harder than it should have.
On the other side of the room was Darok.
He moved closer to me, slowly.
A little too slow.
“I’ll be sure to teach you proper etiquette,” he said with a sneer on his face
“After tomorrow” he continued.
I stepped back immediately, afraid and pestered by his touch.
“Don’t you dare touch me” I said, petrified by his sudden move.
“I’ll touch whatever I own” he said, still having that stupid sneer on him.
Rage flashed through my thicker skin, and I shoved his hand away.
A cup fell from his hand, and it did enough damage.
He let out his true colors, the real monster in him.
“You stupid girl,” he yelled.
“Darok” Aunt Mara yelled, but it had reached deaf ears.
He tightened his grip more, applying pressure I could feel my soul leaving.
“Poor omega, you have no choice” he said evilly.
“Tomorrow, this pack watches you kneel to
me”
My wolf curled weakly inside of me.
The only thing ringing in my ears was;
“Run”
I wanted to escape from this treacherous fate, and I had planned it properly.
“Run if you want to,” Darok said, like he could read my mind.
“I love hunting my prey” he said.
I shoved my knee into Darok’s, causing him enough pain to let me go.
I immediately made haste for the door, running as fast as I could.
“Lyriaa” Aunt Mara’s voice echoed through the halls.
But I couldn't stop running, if I did I won't know what would become of me.
Howls.
Sounds of wolves howling.
They were after me, every single one of them.
My chest panted once or twice.
As my feet kept wandering, I had only one plan
“Escape to the north”
The journey was long, weather changes didn't permit me to rest.
Though, it was all worth it as I had reached my destination. The north.
I looked back, the pack had stopped chasing me a long time ago.
Yet, I was still cautious.
Silence became the first language, I could feel a certain presence.
I wasn't alone, but this scent wasn't that of the pack.
It was strange and deadly.
Suddenly, I feel flat on the frozen floor. Daggers and spares pointed at me.
The back of my head fully braced for an attack, this could be my last minute.
“Halt” An unfamiliar powerful voice descended.
I looked up to see him.
A man emerging from the darkness, wearing a long black coat streaked by the rain.
Tall. Broad shoulders. Dark hair falling over dark features that look carved.
Yet, it was his eyes that froze me.
Silver, not normal wolf gold but Silver .
Wolves growled towards me, some wanting to attack, some wanting to mate.
My eyes were not on them, but solely on him.
“State your identity” he said from afar.
I swallowed my tongue, speechless.
He was too divine, like he had come from royal blood.
“I said speak” he moved closer, with eloquence.
Too close, I could smell his wolf.
“Lyria” finally let out a word.
“I am Lyria, an omega from the east” I said.
As expected, faces changed, both surprised and rebuffed.
That was the reality of an Omega, casted from society.
“An omega” he said, he didn't look disgusted by others, instead he seemed intrigued.
“Alpha”, one of the wolves addressed.
Alpha, as in the Alpha King.
My God.
I had heard stories of the ruthless Alpha King, Kael Draven.
The great legends, the king who slaughtered tens of thousand for his own interests.
And I had just crossed his territory.
“Shes a spy” a voice from the pack proposed, giving a headlight for the rest to follow.
The pack was muted by just one look from the Alpha.
“Lyria” he called my name.
“You crossed my border,” he said calmly.
“I didn't mean to… I was just” my lips sealed.
I couldn’t tell the full story.
That i ran away from home, avoiding a forceful marriage.
“You?” He pointed out my stammering.
“I lost my way, and stumbled upon these grounds” I forged a lie.
Kael laughed, hard in my face.
“Lies?” He was too smart.
“No, I would never lie to an Alpha”
My wolf obeyed him, and surrendered.
My knees dropped to the ground, pleading and hailing.
One thing I knew, I had to become one of them
I would rather die here in the north, than to go back.
He moved closer to me.
Each step he took felt like a threat.
He studied me, my eyes, nose, and face.
Scanning for a hidden piece,
“I promise, I’m not a spy” I said, trying to sound convincing.
“Did I say you were?” He replied, bending his lower back, his face was a few inches towards mine.
Those silver eyes he had, eyes designed to pull a soul.
Entrapping it.
His scent wrapped around me instantly,
Smoke, slow, brewing something white underneath.
My wolf stirred weakly inside of me.
And for the first time. She didn’t sound afraid.
She sounded awake.
Kael’s eyes narrowed suddenly, noticing.
He reached for me once again, the moment his wrist touched my palm, his eyes changed.
His silver eyes turned gold.
One of the wolves from the pack said in disbelief
“Mate?”
