Chapter 15 Noah Gerald Sky Judge The Suspect I didn't know why I brought him in my little sanctuary. My brain made me do it. I couldn't believe I kissed Gloss. Again. The conversation Gloss and I had, it's full of sincerity, and not to mention, a decent one, that was until he teased me by stating his favorite song, which is 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' by Taylor Swift, the Queen of Break-up songs. I'm still figuring myself, as to why I kissed Gloss in the first place. His lips looked warm and soft and sweet I just had to taste it. My expectations were right when my lips landed onto his. My chest was burning with passion, and I put it into action by kissing him. Am I gay? Or was it just curiosity that made me kiss him like that? I kissed him two times. Breathing heavily, I stand up from my bed and look at the pictures of Chelsie and I. I take it and put it in a basement, where the useless things, but hold so much memories, are. Gloss and I received a handful of lecture from Dad. Apparently, he has received the news that we didn't go to school, that we ditched. I couldn't speak. Because one, I've never explained myself to my father. And second, because his tone was demanding and angry. I've never ditched school before. Until now. And Gloss was to blame for it. Hopefully, Gloss explained what happened, that we just took our time and got to know each other more, and that made Dad happy, and he clearly forgot about the 'school ditching' when he started to question Gloss about our mini escapede. I get back to my bedroom and sprawl myself on the bed. The soothing feeling seeps right into my body, making me relax. After our kiss, we just got home, and there was an awkward silence. Neither of us spoke. The radio was turned on that time but it didn't help much. Staring at my ceiling, I grab my iPod and plug the earphones in my air. Searching through my hundreds of music, I choose 'We Remain' by Christina Aguilera. I shut my eyes and listen to the strong voice of Christina as she sings the lyrics very good. The beat has me bobbing my head up and down. My eyes snap open when someone shakes me, interrupting my mini fun. It's Genny. I remove my earphones and place them on the nightstand beside my bed. "Dinner is ready," she says as she sits on my bed. Genny and I are really close. I call her mom because she acts like one. She treats me like her real son and I'm glad for it. "It seems like you and Gloss are giving each other a chance to get to know each other." "Yeah," I say, scratching the back of my neck, feeling uncomfortable. Genny had never talked to me about Gloss. "I mean, we want to know each other. Not just by name. All we did was to bicker and ruin each other's lives." "I'm happy for it," she says as she gives me a motherly smile filled with love and proudness. I almost cry. Because for one, my real mother didn't act the way she should have. Second, she was not saying, didn't speak, those words Genny has said to me earlier. "Thank you, Noah. I'm glad you're my son." "Thanks Cecil," I tease her. Dad sometimes calls her Cecil. It's her second name. Genny Cecil Schlund. She playfully smacks my head as she rolls her eyes at me. "Ow, sorry, mom." I chuckle. She shakes her head at me, a smile evident on her lips. She stands up and leaves my room. I follow her. Gloss is already seated, looking thoughtfully at his empty plate. He then blushes and the first word that pops into my mind is: cute. I scoff innerly and take a seat just across from him. He looks up and our eyes meet. We just stare at each other and I feel a tug at my heart, urging me to move and just ravish his lips. I hold myself to it. He then looks down and blood rushes to his cheeks. I smirk at him. Genny places a bowl of soup on the table. This time, a macaroni soup with meat balls. Genny is good at experimenting. Then she places a bowl of mashpotatoes filled with lots of gravy and Gloss' face lights up at the sight of it. He licks his lip slowly as he eye-rapes the mashpotato. He pouts when Genny tells him that he should eat the macaroni soup first before the mashpotato. Gloss is so cute. Woah. Gloss is causing me to think homo thoughts. What's happening with me? Our eyes meet again and something tugs at my heart again. Without any thought, I grab my plate, stand up, and take a seat beside him. Dad narrows his eyes at me suspiciously whereas Genny gives me a smile. We all eat. "So, how's school so far, son?" Dad asks. I'm about to answer when Gloss interrupts me. "Not you, idiot." He hisses at me as he looks at Dad and gives him a grin. "It's been great." "No girlfriend for us to meet?" He asks as he stabs a meatball and shoves it into his mouth. I look at Gloss, waiting for his answer. I feel jealousy bubbling inside me, turning into angerness. I can't have Gloss being touched, or kissed, by anyone else. I sigh in relief as I see him shake his head. Dad, that bastard never asked me anything. Genny does. She asks me how's school and I tell her that it's been great, no dramas and stuffs. The latter is a complete lie. Because I'm pretty sure that Chelsie's mini affair with Mike is a perfect drama in my life. +++ "God, I hate that guy," John says, referring to Ashton, as Ashton passes by our table with Gloss and Kaila trailing behind him, holding their own tray. "He pisses me off." "Because you're a total hottie," Nero sniggers as he tries to attempt a seductive, gayish tone at John. John just rolls his eyes at Nero. Sam laughs at that. "So... are you considering Mike's apology?" Karl asks me. Jeric and the rest of the jocks lean down, to listen at me. My eyes trail to Mike's table. He's completely alone, looking distressed and sad. This is the first time I see Mike without his true self. He's always happy. He'd laugh at smallest things. "I guess, yes." I say, looking sadly at Mike. "I mean, he told me stuffs and shits. He's really sorry. I've known him since we were kids. Mike's words are always true." The jocks agree at me, nodding. "Talk to him," Collins says. "Yeah, bring our friend back," Kevin says. "He's really lonely there." I sigh, stand up, and move over to Mike's table. He sees me walking towards his direction and stiffens. I take a seat across from him. All eyes are trained on us now. Mike looks really uncomfortable. "Uh, Noah, what's up?" He tries to act cool. "Drop the act, Mickey." I say, his face falling down. "Go back to our table. We miss our friend." He looks at me, his face lighting up. "But don't think that I forgot what you did to me. Because I will never." I say. He nods sadly. I continue. "But I forgive you. Just... don't stab me behind my back again." He gives me a smile and stands up. I slung an arm around his neck and bring him to our table. "Welcome back, Mickey!" Jeric chirps. "Welcome again, bro." Kevin says as he fist bumps Mike. My eyes land on Gloss'. I smile at him. A proud smile is etched across his beautiful lips. That makes me smile for some reason. I'm glad that I did something good; that is to forgive my best friend Mike. My mind wanders to Chelsie. I haven't seen her ever since our talk in the newest building's rooftop. I just caught a glimpses of her in the back of our classes. She's been quiet. John looks at Gloss' table and I look at them. He can't be eyeing Gloss, can he? When I look back, Ashton is laughing along with Gloss, hugging him. I frown at that action of Ashton. I want to squash him! He doesn't have the right to hug, or touch, Gloss. John's eyes flicker with jealousy and I look back again at them. Kaila is planting kisses on Ashton's face, him blushing furiously. John sends a glare full of pointy daggers at Ashton's direction. Jeez, he must be really jealous at Ashton. He likes Kaila, doesn't he? Sam, Nero, Kevin, and Collins talk about the school stuffs. Jeric and Mike are talking about girls. Clearly, all of us have forgotten about the affair. We all forgave Mike. I'd forgive Chelsie soon, but not right now. My heart is still shattered, but some pieces are already at their respective places, and that's because I forgave Mike. I chose to forgive my best friend. Gloss and the rest of his friends make way towards the junior's hallway, passing our table. Ashton's eyes fall into John's. John rolls his eyes at Ashton and Ashton, a blank expression across his face, looks away, ignoring John. John frowns, trails his eyes at Ashton, and sighs an exasperated one. Tommy takes a seat beside Mike. He eyes Mike suspiciously, probably wondering why Mike is at our table. The jocks explain it to him and Tommy and Rolly just shrug. "Bro, is it true?" Rolly asks me as he shoves a fries in his mouth. "What is?" I ask him, furrowing my eyebrows. "That Gloss Kaiser Schlund is your brother?" Tommy continues. Oh s**t.
