I step out of the car as the sunlight fades to soft evening tones. Zaire cuts the engine and turns to me with that warm smile that makes my chest settle. “Home sweet home,” he says, opening the door for me. I glance at the overflowing car. “Looks like the baby’s room is going to be... perfect.” Zaire nods, already moving to grab the trunk. “It’ll be taken care of.
