Right before Astria reached in front of Laura, she made an agile turn to the side. Laura missed her by a few inches, but what came after was impossible to avoid.
Because right behind Astria was Skyee with his claws out and teeth bearing as he was chasing Astria. Neither of them was prepared to face each other like this.
Skyee was not expecting to see Laura with her claws out, ready to attack. He tried to dodge and go sideways, but suddenly his foot caught on something, and he tripped. Laura came to her senses and retracted her claws. But the damage was done.
Skyee had a long gash right at the base of his neck close to the collar bones. Blood gushed out and he fell to the ground. The wound wasn't deep enough to kill him, but more than enough to render him motionless for a while.
