AVA’s POV:
“Hahaha, that old hag. I wouldn’t do s**t for that bitch.” The white-haired beauty said laughing. “For the rogue queen, we would do anything.” She said in scary serious voice when Axel lunged forward bearing his fangs.
All a sudden, he was flung into a tree by some kind of invisible force. When he tried to get up, he was immediately thrown into the air and slammed back down on the ground by just the wave of the girl's hand. This time when he got up, he was able to dodge her invisible attack and sped towards her but was immediately stopped by some branches that grew swiftly out of the ground, grabbing his leg and then throwing him back away from her. With her focus mainly on him, she didn’t even notice me staring in awe. Axel was totally getting his ass whipped by a girl, but to be fair, she was really strong. Either way, if we survive this, I’m not letting him forget.
While they fought, one of the wolves jumped towards me. I got super close to the edge and swiftly ducked, moving my whole body to the side as the wolf fell over the edge, plummeting to his death. ‘I can’t rely on Axel right now.’ I looked at him fighting as hard as he could against the girl.
Two more wolves ran towards me, but this time dodging was going to be out of the question. They had me cornered. I glanced at Axel. He was all bloody, and there were six wolves chomping on him. He was still standing tall even with all the odds against us. The two wolves leaped toward me, I threw myself over the cliff while gripping onto the edge. Dangling on the edge, the two wolves just simply walked away as if they knew I was losing my grip and about to fall to my death. I was going to fall. My leg was hurting so badly. I could feel my hands giving out.
I shut my eyes, praying for Axel to get to me. Right as my hands gave out, someone caught me and pulled me up. For a moment, I assumed it was Axel, but as I opened my eyes, I realized it was SOMEONE ELSE... I couldn’t believe it! What is he doing here?! What is happening?!
“Leon?!” I gasped.
He smiled and then pushed me to the side, putting himself in between a leaping wolf and myself. It was like time froze. My younger brother was about to be ripped apart before my very eyes! All I could see was his pale cold skin lying limp on the ground lifeless as everything around me went red. Red. RED. RED!!!!
BETA ACE POV:
‘Ace, GET HERE NOW!’ Alpha Axel ordered.
‘Yes, Alpha.’ I mind-linked back.
There were 10 of us holding strong, but what started out as 20, 25 rogues attacking us, turned into nearly 50. It’s like they were waiting for us and knew exactly where we were going to be. If Axel hadn’t insisted I bring 10 of our fiercest warriors as his escort, we would be in serious trouble right now, though we were starting to get super exhausted. Many of them were injured and banged up pretty badly.
Fighting off two wolves, I ran into the forest. Running as fast as I could while the wolves chased after me, hot on my trail. I really wanted to kill them, but Axel needed me by his side. He must be in a tight spot for him to call me for help.
Getting to the clearing, I could see a witch flinging Axel around like a ragged doll along with six wolves sinking their teeth into his back. I’d never seen him in such a state.
‘Save Ava!’ Axel roared, mind-linking me.
I looked around but couldn’t spot her. ‘I don’t see her.’
‘The cliff!’
Narrowing my eyes at the cliff, I saw a naked guy lying on his stomach reaching out for something. Who is he? Where’s Ava? ‘She’s not there.’
‘She is!’ Axel growled.
That’s when I saw the boy pulling Ava up with her eyes shut tight. As she slowly opened them, her eyes widened. She looked as if she had seen a ghost.
“Leon?!” She gasped.
She knows him. Is he helping her? Right as I was about to go to her side, two wolves lunged toward her. But to my surprise, the man pushed her to the side and threw himself in front of the cold- blooded beasts.
“NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” Ava screamed, releasing a surge of powerful energy. Her eyes black as night and full of rage. Her red hair glowed, floating above her ears. The ground shook, branches snapped, fell to the ground, loads of birds flew into the sky while my body stood frozen. The two wolves midway into their jump were thrown to the ground with enormous force. You could hear their bones break into a trillion pieces as they howled in pain. Within seconds she was in front of them letting out a fearful screech as she set them aflame. I could feel her blood lust; her craving to kill anything and everything. I had never felt afraid, not even of Axel, but right now I was petrified. What is she?!
The witch stopped her attack on Axel and gave her full attention to Ava. Her expression confused me. She went from shock, to guilt, and then finally fear. Why would she feel guilty?! “Retreat!” She ordered the rogues, who were already running away horrified. She appeared in front of Ava, tapping her on the forehead. “I’m sorry…” she whispered as Ava collapsed into the witches arms. “I didn’t know.” She laid her on the ground.
“GET AWAY FROM HER!” Axel Roared!
“She’s only asleep.” She said, turning to the boy. “Leon, let’s go.”
“What about Ava?!” The boy asked, worried. “We can’t leave her!”
“Leon!” She glared. “Now is not the time. She is his mate and that changes things!”
“I don’t accept that!” He argued.
“We will come back for her.” She sighed, grabbing his arm as she made a portal and threw him through it. “Before I go.” She stared at Axel, who was now ready to kill anything between him and Ava. “It was Jason’s Mistress that tipped us off about where you would be. She has a magic globe that she uses to communicate with us. But Mistress Rava isn’t the only snake in your court that wishes Ava dead. If I had known it was her, I would never have attacked you. I’m truly sorry.” She looked down ashamed. “Tell her I said I’m sorry.” The witch said, walking through the portal.
