“Metro city is a great idea for living” said a young women in the podium.

“We are combine technologies and humanism. People all around the world are welcomed to live in. We don’t care your skin color, your hair, your job or religion. Everyone has same right to live in a good place peacefully.

That’s why, I Manuela Stone presents to you a great design for the west wing of Metro City.”

All people clapped their hand. They amazed on her design. She is only twenty five but able to create such kind of mega design. She just like a maestro. All judges agreed that she is genius.

“We are here create new culture. Unity is the most important when you are live in diversity. West wing of Metro City will be built as shopping center. The design must be unique. Can’t be found in other places. It is the combination of Asia, Europe, America, Australia and Africa.

We will have three types of toilets, male, female and beyond. We will be first shopping center that honor every gender in the world. We will give non binary same right to live and socialize here. The Shopping center will consist of five star hotels, pools, bars, gyms and beauty clinics. Recently, people more concern with their look. Why we don’t facilitate them?

We will built new security system called. S.A.F.E. (Secure Attendance for Life the Future). Every tenant must be identify by their visa. If they have no visa, they are not allowed to come in. Every S.A.F.E cameras will observe and make sure all visitors are safe and happy.

If we found someone stealing, S.A.F.E robots will catch them in less than 5 minutes. If we detect any visitors need help, just says they need medical. Our assistance will come with the doctor to check.

By provides exclusivism and safe, we will be able be number one safeties residence in the world. Our value of investment increase rapidly.

All director seem happy hear her explanation. She got their attention. All director gave one point, she get 8 points now. They gossiping each other. How can this young beautiful women having very good ideas? She will be youngest maestro of the year. 

“One closer to be winner. Win the vote and mega project is yours. I think they all in love in your ideas just like us. Your winning will be valued 2 points. You will 10 points in total. Congratulation!” said the judges.

It’s done. Her idea is too brilliant. My idea? Just like dust flown by the wind. How I could with judges’ heart?

“Get ready, your turn!” said the staff. She called me and told me to present my design.

I stood in the podium. Observing the audience, 8 judges and five investors. Impress them will be something. Manuela did too well. I must make them agree with my idea. If I know this earlier, I better gave up and not join the competition.

Oh what am I thinking about? I’m big five contestants but my design…

“Are you going to tell us something or what?” said one of judges, director Ruichi Kotaro.

“I…I will present my design” I said.

I turned on the projector. 3d image appeared. I had less energy after hearing Manuela presentation. She is really something

“I called it Corner of Culture. West wing of Metro City was planned as public space right? We have one shopping modern shopping center in the north. School and public area are in the south. So for west, I think it will be good if we open educational amusement park.

There will be cultural park. Here, we are divided into five areas. Each areas has its own unique. For example, Asia. We will built one museum of Asia histories. Language center of Asia also built near it. We provide visitors clothes for rent. A stage for performance.

Cafes and souvenirs shops in Asia area sell anything you find in Asia. Kimonos, swords, grills, Chinese food, Thai food and soon. Stage performance is allowed here. Students also can use it in school or cultural festival.

The garden will design clean and safe for sport. Yoga, running. Walk or martial art. It will remains the tenant their hometown…”

“Excuse me” said one of investor. “You means you want to create cultural tourism places? Like Theme park?”

“More or less” I answer.

“Disagree. If you did it, what is special about Metro City? If you want enjoy cultural things you can go abroad and having vacation there. Your idea is ……ridiculous!” he said.

I’m sweating. He is right. What am I expect from them?

“Metro City honor different in diversity. If we built theme park, you know it will hurt one another feeling. Their nationalism will vanish. Not all people able to understand history. Historical event only hurt in the past and will affect future. We won’t let people here live based on their ethnic anymore. They must blend into one.”

Two people disagree with me. I lost two of eight light here. One light, one point from every judges. Two judges already shut down the light. I can’t let other shut down too.

“What’s make people unique?” I said “Culture! We have different culture. First regulation and life norm was start by cultural life. We are here because of yesterday. This theme park like memorial for tenant lives here. People have feeling. Their feeling is so precious. We can express it through art. Art is part of culture.

We can separate people from culture. We are not here to gather an army right?”

Judges left seem unhappy. One more judges shut down their light. Judges in the last table did so. It is followed by on the two of them. Only left three. I’m panic now. I failed. I even can’t finish my idea.

“Please” I said. When I saw three last judges will press the button.

“World without art is eh. Looked your clothes you wear. Imagine, if there is no art. What are you going to wear? “

One judge shut down his light. He doesn’t feel happy.

“Listen the music, the melodious…”

Treeet!, two other judges shut down the light. I’m done. They are dissatisfied.

“Well, I think you should go. For we are here disagree”

“But Sir” I said. “Do you really care only about money? The public spaces you have. It’s too narrow to war the climate change. I think you know well, the rule?”

The judges getting more dislike. He raise his hand and please me to leave.

“What we do is not on your business!”

Kringgg a dial in come to the phone. The man answer. All of sudden he looked up his back. His eyes pointed on the big glasses room above.

“No way!” he whispered.

He put the phone and suddenly, I got five light points on.
