Chapter Eight “Everyone survive?”Lena put the question to Mickey who was watching Jill struggle with a dive tank. “Alison finally woke up,”Mickey smiled. “And Tyson lost her glass eye. It just popped right outta the socket and landed, plop– into her drink.” Lena wrinkled her nose. “Tyson has a glass eye?” Mickey beamed. “Naw. I just made that part up. The only real casualty was a set of perfectly good dishware.” Lena was unaffected. “Dishes we can replace. The dive tanks check out?” “You’re set to go. Jill has tested both tanks and the regulators to go with them. You’ve got a full charge. I’ve got a couple of dive masks here as well– protect your eyes and stop you from inadvertently sucking in a snoot-full of gas.” Lena scooped up a regulator. “Damned good idea. Thanks.”She adjusted
